Is it true that a planet in a house that it rules may hurt that house ? Let’s say Jupiter in 5th (children), Sun in 9th (father), Moon in 4th (mother), etc
I’m guessing it depends on dignity?
THats a common principle floating around, but I never found it to work great. I think the condition of the planet is what is most important.

The houses are what we have, the THINGS, the planets are our consciousness,
Hi Ernst-
So if I elaborate on this line, to clarify my understanding:
The difficulties/pain that are coming in from the avasthas/habits are more because of our mind- the consciousness with which we experience and create. Thus, they can be improved by understanding them and changing our habits. But difficulties coming from the house are concrete and can't be solved by merely understanding or changing our psychological habits. Yes?
Planets in bad lajjitaadi avasthas make it impossible to be happy with the things of the houses that they impact even when the things of the houses are great. LIkewise, houses that are showing a lack in the concrete reality, are not a source of unhappiness when the avashtas are good.
i guess we can be poor or sick or grew up in bad situation and still be happy with life if we have planets in good lajjittadi avashtas which represents our consciousness. Or we can be wealthy with all the money in the world yet still be very unhappy because we have bad lajjitaadi avashtas. The concrete things of the houses and our consciousness of how we experience those concrete things are mutually exclusive. The source of our happiness or unhappiness is our consciousness, our habits. That is how i understand Ernst's comments which makes a lot of sense to me
