Placements in 6th, 8th and 12th from the planet in the Rasi should be avoided, got it.

But is Saturn in the 12th such a bad placement?

It really dependson the avastha, in bad avastha, its a hard one, but the Sun is the worst to have in 12th when in a bad avastha.
