Reading charts for "non-visible" careers

I have two questions:

If someone has a non-visible job should we still look to the D10?

I am wondering about jobs that are outside of mainstream society, or even secret and hidden professions that would feel more 4th house (hidden/underground) than 10th house (visible).

An example might be illegal professions (drug-dealers or escorts). I was also recently looking at the chart of a medicine woman who holds ayahuasca ceremonies as their job and they do so relatively underground and was wondering if the D10 would be where I would look for career.

My other question is if the Darakaraka can represent a person we create something with, not just spouse, such as a business partner you create a business with?

Thank you.

1oth is the success with our job, what our job is is the lagna and pada and AK.

Hi Rhiannon, pay attention to the 8th cusp for hidden/taboo professions as well as the 3rd (the 8th from the 8th). I don’t know about drug dealing (haven’t run in a lot of those lately ????) but certainly for astrology, the occult, deep psychology, shamanism, ...

@mona Ooooh I did not know that about the 3rd. That explains a lot 🙂 Thank you.

@rhiannon I learned that « trick » from a reading I had with Laura Barat (I have  Mercury in the 3rd in Scorpio) which explains my interest in astrology. For some reason, I find bhavat bhavam fascinating 🙂

@mona Yes I have Mercury there too 🙂 Just looking up the rules of bhavat bhavam and it seems the 2nd also gives results of the 3rd so I wonder if that would also be good for wealth, or getting your fair share, to have Mercury there.

@rhiannon

I think that, being the second from the second, it could indicate money from close family members (also, because the 8th house is other's people's money, including inheritance). Could also be how we can make money since the 3rd house is the house of our skills and abilities.

And yes getting your fair share with Mercury. I assume this is dependent on Mercury's dignity and Avasthas.

It's an Upachaya house, which also means it improves over time.

Just chiming in to say I'm part of the 'Mercury in the 3rd house in Scorpio' club as well! ???? Except mine is also conjunct Pluto. With Pluto at 8° and Mercury at 9°.

@kam Welcome to the Club! I've also noticed that quite a few astrologers are virgo lagna.
