Ernst,
On page 8 in the Anatomy & Nutrition audio course manual the paragraph reads:
The seven Avasthas: Deepta, Svastha, Pramudita, Shanta, Dina, Dukhita and Khala are dependent upon the Graha's relationship to the Rasi it is placed in. The two Avasthas: Vikala and Kopi are depedent upon conjunctions. Due to Deeptaadi Avasthas being dependent upon these two things, a Graha can be in two different Deeptaadi Avasthas at the same time. When a Graha is in two Deeptaadi Avasthas, it will give the effects of both Avasthas. Note: that if a Graha is joined with the Sun it is in Kopi Avastha, not in Vikala Avastha.
Say if:
The Sun, Saturn, Mars, Jupiter and Rahu are in Virgo.
Jupiter would be Kopi by the Sun, Dina because of being in Virgo in this chart. Would Jupiter also be Vikala because of Saturn, Mars and Rahu?
You state that a graha can be in two different Deeptaadi Avasthas, not three different Deeptaadi Avasthas.
With Gratitude & Appreciation,
Leah
It can be in two or more, it can be in as many as it is!
Thanks
