If Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, why is physical distress experienced if Moon 2nd or 7th’s lord? Or distress in eyes and stomach in the Sooksma and Prana Dasas?

I was trying to understand why Jupiter Dasa would cause physical distress during the Moon’s Antardasa if Moon is 2nd or 7th’s lord. If Jupiter is naturally exalted in the Moon’s house of Cancer, why would the Lord of the Dasa cause problems during the Antardasa of the Lord of the house that he likes to be in? I am trying to understand their relationship in this case.

It will be better to post a screenshot of d1,d30 and d40 vargas and their lajjitadi avastha tables.

I have been trying to understand Jupiter and his relationship to the Moon for the past couple of years. This is just part of the process, hence there is no chart. Also, because it is Dasa based, I want to understand it in a generic way and not based on a particular chart.

Not sure I understand the question completely. Are you asking a specific example of when Jupiter is in Cancer, or theoretically?

I could be wrong, but it would have more to do with 2 and 7 being Marak houses (and their lords being Marak planets), I think.

Theoretically. In any chart, the way I am understanding Dasa, Jupiter does not have to be in Cancer or any particular house, nor does Moon have to be in any particular house. It is also not based on how many houses away from their house or from each other they have to be for this effect to come into play, from what I can see in the manual.

It only says when Moon is 2nd and 7th lord, which means when Ascendant is either Gemini or Capricorn. Does this effect only take place is Jupiter or Moon is debilitated or afflicted or does it take place anyway but to varying degrees. If so, why?

I could be wrong in the way I am seeing things or not able to see certain things, hence the question.

With these yogas, its often hard to figure the reason out why, that is why that book is so useful. for gemini and capricorn jupiter is a malefic and the moon is a maraka, the antardasa or a malefic in the dasa of a maraka can be difficult. He points this out in respect to moon and jupiter as normally we expect very good results in moon jupiter.

Thanks, Ernst. Which book are you referring to?

I might have forgotten or missed it, but is there a video where you have discussed the reasons why Jupiter is exalted in Cancer? I thought I might start there and work my way backwards.

Also, where can I find the ‘why’ of Jupiter and Moon being bad planets for Gemini and Capricorn.

BPHS gives the differences for the planets in the Yoga Karaka chapter, that is also in Vault of the Heavens book and its also in the Yoga Judgment course under the Dharma Kama MOksha yoga section.
