Ernst, do you ascribe any special importance to the nakshatras of Rahu & Ketu, in addition to that of the Moon?

For someone just starting to the study the nakshatras themselves, where would you recommend starting at this point?

@j0sh4rp3 I have an audio course called  Nakshatras the Galactic Zodiac and it's on this site or you can purchase to download.

In a recent thread you mentioned about using a tropical 28-equal nakshatra system with the sarvatobhadra chakra, replacing signs with adityas. That wouldn't exactly be a "galactic zodiac" if it were tropical...but I guess most of that information about the galactic zodiac should be helpful, just used in a different way in that situation when using tropical nakshatras?

@j0sh4rp3 I don't want to overstep here, but for me the key has been to understand that the nakshatras and the rasis are completely different things. The nakshatras are stars, and the stars are Enlightened consciouness, or pure principles. So for that you're looking at what star the graha is actually nearest to, and understanding that star shows you the principle that's operating through that graha. The rasis are the unconscious domains of human life, so for that you're looking at what slice of the ecliptic the graha falls in, and the rasi tells you the domain that the graha is focusing its energy in.

@j0sh4rp3 Ernst course is very good, I specially complemented him for that course a while ago. He has a more practical and in many ways more useful approach than what you generally find out there. If you want to get to know each nakshatra more in depth this site may be helpful: www.thenakshatras.com. Personally I don´t like her teaching style much, but I read what she says about each nakshatra every time I need to connect to one.

@ernst Please allow me to give you an example of the technique that I'm experimenting with, to verify whether my concept and calculations are valid.

I have a friend with Rahu in Anuradha nakshatra at 8'28" Sagittarius (according to Kala with your recommended calculations). He is a channel, and the qualities of Anuradha nakshatra describe the material that he channels quite well. However, the source of the material that he channels told him that it's from Antares, which I was interested to discover lies at 9 degrees Sagittarius, and the qualities ascribed to Antares describe the material that he channels at least as well.

@jeffk Antares is Jyeshta, so it's one step away from Anudradha. I wonder if some other nakshatra calculation would put rahu or some other significant point in Jyestha/Antares?

@ernst Right. Well, that's more or less why I'm asking. To be kind of cynical about it, the nakshatras are just a shortcut for determining whether Rahu is near a particular star. But, given the precision that we have now, you can just google what star(s) Rahu is actually near.
