Hi Ernst and all,

I am looking at a Gemini Lagna chart, and we have Venus, Saturn and Jupiter in the 5th.

Venus rules 5th and 12th

Saturn rules 8th and 9th

Jupiter rules 7th and 10th

no evil 3th, 6th or 11th lord involved making it unstained.

But is Jupiter (=evil) blocking the Yoga formed by Saturn & Venus or even enhancing it?

"Mars, Jupiter and the Sun are evil, Venus is the only auspicious one. Jupiter's yoga with Saturn is like that for Aries (=not auspicious is the simple yoga of saturn and jupiter). the moon is the principle killer who produces effects according to association. Thus the modifed results caused by gemini lagna according to the learned." BPHS, Yogakarakas 25-26.

So here we don't have the simple yoga jupiter with saturn but jupiter with saturn & venus (is venus the saving grace making it unstained?

let's look at the numbers...

Per Ishta Kashta Table - tab IxSxSD/KxAxAD

Venus has positive value +3.9 and negative value -10.2.

Saturn has positive value of +21.4 and negative value of -0.9.

Jupiter has positive value of +0.8 and negative value of -23.5

Per Subha/Ishta/Dig to Grahas Table, Jupiter negatively influenced Saturn by -21.1 but Saturn has +21.4

and Venus is helping Saturn by +2.3. So it seems Saturn survives this and produces unstained yoga.

Per Subha/Ishta/Dig to Grahas Table, Jupiter negatively influenced Venus by -11.7 but Venus has +3.9

and Saturn is helping Venus by +12.7. So it seems Venus survives this and produces unstained yoga.

Is this analysis correct is Venus the saving grace making it unstained?

Does jupiter besides trying to trash the yoga producers does anything positive at all?

Thank you!

Jan

This is a very tricky combo to study. First, jupiter will not block the yoga as saturn is the strongest trine lord and jupiter is the second strongest angle lord. Also, only 3/6/11 will be real blockers.

What we have is 2 trine lords together, venus and saturn, but thats not a raja yoga. Its a wealth yoga. However, venus and jupiter are also shamed in that house due to being with saturn and shamed planets in the 5th can give upsets in career as 5th is 8th from 10th. so its not a stable career chart.

Dear professor @ernst, am confused if Jupiter (7/10) is not evil or even if he's evil doesn't saturn (8/9) and venus (5/12) both produce raja yoga through their conjunction with jupiter(7/10) in the fifth? besides the wealth combo aswell and the shame effect.

formula for yoga judgement:

a trine lord becomes capable of producing success in te context of the varga in which it is found when:

a trine lord and an angle lord are in the same rasi.

Isn't this the case here?

Could you help clear up my confusion on this.

Thank you,

Jan

There is the general rule of an angle and trine lord being capable of forming a raja yoga. Then in BPHS more specific rules for each lagna are given. So yes, jupiter as 7th and 10th lord with venus will form a yoga, but its not the same as a pure raja yoga. THe pure ones are what I like to call, Dharma Raja Yogas. These are formed when planets are natural friends to each other. You will see that for the lagnas that merc venus and saturn tend to form raja yogas and jupiter, mars, sun and moon are more inlined to form the yogas. Jupiter and Venus do not. Jupiter and Mercury do not. So while jupiter and venus will form a raja yoga it won't give the true fullfilment and will be full of self compromises. It wont' be sattvic. THere are many success yogas formed by Jupiter and venus conjunction, but that's just one part of the picture.
