"You often say that hard combinations and challenging planetary placements in a birth chart happen because someone was very skilled or attached to something in their past life, and now their ego needs to break so they don't overly involve themselves in that area. I understand that idea. But it makes me wonder — if someone does good deeds in their life, are they born with hard planets in their next life because they were too attached to their abilities? Then what about people who commit very bad deeds, like murderers or rapists — are they born with better planets because they weren't attached?
It seems confusing, because according to the basic idea of karma, I thought good deeds should lead to a better birth and bad deeds to a harder one. Could you please help me understand this more clearly?
"
The contradiction does not actually happen because as people become detached from their deeds they have no inclination to commit ill deeds. If they do do something "wrong" it is because of the force in them that requires this action of them. It's not them, or their wounds doing it. All our attachments really come from our wounds.
