Okay, too often here I keep getting rebuttals from people who just say, "go see and astrologer", and despite the number of bad things that means, among other things with this community, I am willing to put out the money for one, however effectiveness and ability to relate and communicate solutions and so forth is what matters. In particular I would be interested in a medical astrologer that is particularly versed with gems and the specific location it should be put at, among other practices such as astrocartography, divination, etc. Why not used one in the "recommended list" Because even Ernst would say that he can't recommend one truly when it comes all of these things.

Hi Uunarim,

I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but these are my thoughts.

I've seen you post on the forum a few times and never had the time to reply because I just had a pretty big change in my life that is very time consuming. But even if I had a lot of time, I'm not sure I would have responded, because what you are looking for is very specific and I personally don't use Astrocartography or gem stones nor am I interested in those modalities. So I personally would not jump on a reading swap that involves them. That's really personal. Obviously, different people gravitate towards different aspects of Astrology and you should honor whichever feels right to you. Just know that what you're looking for is fairly niche and that might be part of the reason you aren't finding a reader that meets your criteria or people don't respond to reading swaps.

As far as professional Astrologers go, from what I can see Astrocartography is not very popular in the vedic astrology community because I don't think the promise of the birth chart will change depending on where you move. I know that's not what you said you are looking for, but that seems to be the way people use this modality primarily. That being said, I think you can find where to locate gems with techniques other than Astrocartography (such as cardinal directions correlating with signs). Gem stones are also somewhat controversial. I know a few astrologers who eschew them for more financially accessible remedies. Just as a side note.

The astrologers I have had good experiences with and recommend are (in no particular order): Ganesh Jayakumar, Yogesh Lorah, and Pratul Vishera. The two first ones are students of Ernst's and use the tropical zodiac. Pratul is an extremely skilled siderealist who is one of those people who has completely dedicated his life to the craft and he's a hardcore predictor, if that's what you're looking for. I don't know whether any of these offer what you're looking for, but it might be worth a shot sending them an email and asking.

Another option might be to be less attached to the modality and look for someone who can solve a problem you have. E. g. you have trouble with healthy give and take and would like remedies for that or you suffer from insomnia and are looking for astrological remedies. My experience is that the there were a lot of times in my life when I wanted something very specific and it didn't turn out to be the right thing for me or because it was so niche I couldn't find it. Once I opened myself to other possibilities I was surprised that that's were the actual answer lay.

Anyway, that's just my experience. Good luck!

@francesca-2

I will look into the persons you suggested.

I think its no secret that the use of tropical with vedic is something of a controversy with ernst and vedic astrology in general, however from what it seems given the law of avoid gems that are 8th and 12th from each other, I want to say that is mostly true with sidereal, and if I use tropical, it appears to almost be a sort of rashi-ing effect in some ways for the gems I have an aversion too.

Opening myself to possibilities was never a problem, so much as having it actually come to past and effectively at that, and in my life that is essentially an existential requirement as I cant find anyone to solve my problems.

As far as other types of astrology goes, I have had mixed success with it, however my success is so god with astrocartography that it is the only reason I am pursuing astrology.

The best astrologer is the one that God gives you. That happens when it happens; when it is meant to happen. When you try to 'force' a reading, it won't be that effective.

As someone who has struggled with finding answers, I will say that the answers that one seeks lie in the struggles that one goes through. Someone might say I had bad karma and hence did not find someone who will give me cookie cutter answers. But I look at it in a different way and say that I actually had great karma that I got to figure out the answers myself. There was struggle yes, and yes that I did not get solutions to the problems, but I always had help to get to the answers I was seeking. People came out of the woodwork to help me figure things out. It didn’t go the way I thought it was going to go, but it went the way it was meant to go and brought me to the answers I was seeking.

I think this kind of finding answers goes much deeper than finding an astrologer who will tell you or won’t tell you what you want to hear. I found my own way of understanding astrology. I club things together from different areas in life, it’s a complete mish-mash, but it works great. With gems and semi-precious stones, I have learnt from experience. I can’t tell anyone what gem to use when a certain planet is in a certain sign, but I understand why it works the way it does and why it stops working after a while, be it a good gem or a bad gem.

I think there are experiences that we have to experience to understand that experience. It is our right of passage, and perhaps that’s why people like us don’t find the people who will give us the answers we seek, even if they are quite capable of doing so. It is not them, but our own energetic signature that stops them from doing so. It is our great karma that keeps them away from us.

So, I will be one of the other types of people who will tell you not to waste time looking for astrologers. You already have the answers you seek, you just have to start looking for them, or rather looking at them. Everything will conspire to help you on your path.

I should add that I do not do readings for others. I am only interested in astrology because it helps me more in understanding life and the nature of things.

Hi All and @manisha,

I mostly agree with what you said, especially:

“It is our great karma that keeps them away from us.”

Gemstones and other external remedies could be helpful according to a person’s belief system and with respect to age. As we get older, as the planets mature and hard experiences take over and crush, a person could come to state of understanding, like awareness, waking up from a dream. Understand that you are the one to take charge amd start changing from the inside that would lead to change the external conditions to be experienced-if that is meant to be-hence, as you said, if it is in the karma.

A person’s karma is so sophisticatedly complicated that no generalized recommendation could be a match. It depends on so many variables, to say it shortly.

In my life’s experience, I have benefited and still benefiting from gemstones, bach flowers, homeopathy, mantras, fasting and cognitive therapies, at certain stages of my life. They all require the “work”. There’s no magic pill like “wear this gemstone” and everything will be perfect. It requires the work. In my opinion, ideally, the remedy helps the person to vibrate in the such frequency so that they start feeling, thinking and therefore, acting in such a way so that they could become a match for their wish: if all that is what they are fated for. Not all remedies are working the same for everyone, hence their birth charts, fingerprints.

Some remedy, say a gemstone which might have (seemed) helped at a certain time, it might not some other time, hence the Dasa, planetary ages and maturation.

These are in my opinion and experience, that might be different for everyone, as there are no absolutes, certainties…

Thank you

Zumrut

@zumrutd I benefit greatly from both bach and gemstones, and I seriously wish to expand into gemstones like I did with bach, and while there is no silver bullet(which is not a goal, the simple fact is that I do not have the tools to tackle my issues, nor insight, so gemstones it is at this point.

As Ernst said like, a person needs to be able to listen to the inner voice. Learn to develop intuition. Once we get in the habit of listening to soul guidance, then everything starts falling in place eventually.  Until then, expect life a roller coaster ride !
