Hi, I just finished watching the Rahu/Ketu compatibility section. Great stuff! I have a question that wasn't addressed in the videos. What if the Rahu/Ketu are in opposite signs? Meaning, if one partner's Rahu sits with the other's Ketu and vice versa. I have seen this more than once in long term partnerships. I'm wondering if that has been explored. Thanks!

I think I did talk about that somewhere, maybe you will stumble upon it later. In that case they are both coming from opposite backgrounds and have much to learn from each other, however, there tends to be a lot of judgment or discomfort about the other's ketu because it seems so foreign to the other but at the same time, there is a powerful attraction that they can't overcome. If the people have rahu lord's in bad lajjitaadi avasthas then the result is someone they are attracted to but wish they weren't as it get's very painful to try to work with that person.

@ernst Thanks for the tip. I will look at this from now on. I haven't really focused on avashthas before, but will now! ????

@ernst I have the same question than Suzan, as I couldn´t find that topic in the Compatibility course about Rahu and Ketu. Would it be possible to describe the dynamic of the reversed nodes in synastry in more detail? When we complete and let go of Ketu in some way and the others Rahu falls onto our Ketu we are "brought back" to emphasize our Ketu more. What exactly is happening there in this Ketu/ Rahu dynamic in ones´life when the other person opposes them with their Rahu/Ketu? Is it like just emphasizing more with the help of the other person to being able to complete even better our Ketu and go into our Rahu even better and in a more focused and intense way, and shorter time, like it is only possible in close relationships? All of this based on the premise that no planets are conjunct the nodes to substract complexity.

And secondly how does it affect the relationship when the nodes of both persons fall into angles? F.ex. the man has Rahu in the 7th and Ketu in the 1st while the woman has Rahu in the 10th and Ketu in the 4th. As we know the nodes in angles make it more difficult to form long- lasting relationships. Does this synastry add to that? Or is it even possible that it has a more supporting effect?

Thanks a lot!

@tamarap I have this with my wife, and it´s all a bit extreme since my nakshatra is the very relationship oriented Uttara Phalguna, whose "special power" is to join forces... Plus the lagna lord Mercury plus the Sun in the 7th....

Now, she´s a Libra ascendent - having her Rahu in the first house - and that immediately makes her more balanced in this sense, I believe. Her lagna is also her 7th, in a way; I mean Libra is the natural seven. And Aries, her 7th, is the natural 1st. So I´m not sure whether it counts as a typical example...

Of course we learn a lot from each other, but as said: It probably helps that I have this extreme inclination towards partnership, and also the fact that she´s a Libra lagna and that we are both mature. She´s 47, I´m 56. There have been a few disagreements, and sometimes I´ve had to tell her to listen more and not assume nor make desicions for both of us without hearing my opinion first, but in general no big deal, I´d say.
