Hello Ernst and others,
The paths of Hatha Yoga, Jnana Yoga (self-observation, contemplation, the practice of neti-neti), Karma Yoga, and other yogas are powerful tools for one's spiritual evolution.
Practices like Sandhya Vandana done during sunrise, sunset, and nearly all festivals in India are done wrt to the Sun's position - which is astrology (or rather astronomy).
Different ayanamshas, varieties of systems, make it seem 'difficult' to apply for spiritual progress - I assume this is a result of misinformation, wrong exposure.
In what other objective and actionable ways can Astrology be used for one's evolution? It could be identifying which vice of the six/seven vices of the mind would have the strongest hold - but that could be accomplished with self-observation. But the vastness of the field makes me think there should be more to it.
Looking forward to your responses.
Thanks!
I think the most important way by far is understanding the Lajjitaadi avasthas and working with those.
Yes, anyone with a basic knowledge cna take the Lajjitadi avasthas course
