In your first Rashi Sutras course you mention that the 6th house is the house of curses.
what are planets and other karakas related to curses?
(normally we consider Ra and Ke as Karakas for curses, is that correct ? if yes what are their differences? are there any other Karakas for this?)
Its rahu and saturn that curses are attributed to. I wonder if its even real though, but the old books do have some yogas for bad effects from curses.
I've looked at charts where people are sometimes asked if they have a curse or a problem with a curse.
In most cases, I have seen connections with Rahu, Saturn, and also with Uranus and specially Pluto used in modern Western astrology.
Especially with especially slow planets. Hence the problem, which tends to be long-lasting and whether the trigger or the immediate effect is a slow planet.
So-called black magic has also been noticed in some schools of western astrology with the Black Moon (the Apogee of the Moon).
Since most of them are slow planets, there can be many events - many issues of bad luck and accidents.
I myself have experienced situations that are very difficult to explain with a logical explanation.
One case with an acquaintance of mine when he went on a real estate transaction and was probably hypnotized to get signatures was seen with a very expressive Black Moon transit.
It is likely that people already have some combination in their birth card that can make them susceptible to so-called black magic or curses, either at all or at certain times.
Sometimes I have found a connection when, for example, a person has behaved badly in some way, and at that moment the very expressive planet Mars has brought an important event with the transit of the planet Pluto - the higher octave of Mars is considered to be Pluto. If it is possible to change or direct something a little with Mars, Pluto does not listen to people and tends to behave unilaterally, compulsively, dictatively. In the case of Saturn, the higher octave is Uranus, which can also be quite unexpected and strange.
If there are curses, it is possible that they are also different and of a different nature - either from one's own actions fruit or, so to speak, inevitable.
Here are several ways in which it all works. In most cases, a person is more vulnerable if he or she has had health problems for a long time and his or her vitality or vitality is weak. Those with stronger vitality and health are likely to be less vulnerable and able to live, so to speak, a more dominant life and be more influential, but this is a generalization.
In most cases, there is a curse as a blockage or dosha on the card, which does not allow will and free progress to easily develop. Whether there are curses is a separate question. Strange things happen in life, but there is always some more logical explanation. Even when it comes to other people's strange behavior and influence, you may not always see or know it.
In one case, when a person had many strange and bad events, the curse could be treated with vitamins and lifestyle changes, the events decreased and eventually disappeared.
BV Raman writes in a book how he and his grandfather went to rescue villages that were, so to speak, under the control of witches. They counted the maps on their heads and looked at the weather, and mostly found that the witch was a very skilled person using psychology, who skillfully intimidated and chose low-life people as victims, who were even intimidated to death. Low vitality may not be easily noticeable to everyone, and at first glance a weaker person may be more vital than a fairly mobile and viable person. Thus, BV Raman also saw an important role in the vitality and vitality of the victims - low energy made it easier for them to fall victim to certain events.
The pursuit of health and health care is very important and is often underestimated.
That makes a lot of sense! It reminds me of this covid thing...
Well, I asked about curses to understand them astrologically, Not to debate if they exist or not. After reading the replies I think some more explanation is needed;
The main problem that arises when facing these kind of things is causality. If we see someone cursing or using Magic (taking the example from Ayan) and some effect happens, normally we consider the curse or magic to be the cause .
But as astrologers who are seeking to understand the deeper mechanics of consciousness, that kind of thinking will be misleading. We know that what is being manifested as our character and events in our life is the result of how our consciousness has been conditioned and how the divine consciousness is covered.
If we have a chronic disease, it's coming from a conditioning that has happened to our consciousness somewhere in time. A weakness which has been created in our life time, or previous ones or through the connections we have with our ancestors.
When I cast a Prashna for a chronic disease and read in Kala the the disease is caused by the curse of a watery deity; I don't tell the client that you have been cursed and you have to give these offerings in those temples to get cured but I realize that the deep cause of the disease is some conditioning/Karma on the deepest levels of feeling. (@ernst Hope I'm not so wrong about this!) Then I will give a hint to their psychotherapist/Guru that the root of the disease might be there. (this is not something that can be proved easily or at all)
For me, To understand curses astrologically is to understand something inside rather than finding out what has happened outside. Even though whats inside always has a manifestation out side. but as @ayan said it is the weakness inside , amplified trough time and generations, that will attract and give power to the outside cause.
Why I asked about it; Because in deep psychological analysis of some people and observing them for a long period of time we realized that deep psychological problems do behave differently and some behave in a way that the closest thing you can refer to in vedic Puranas and Jyotish texts is curses.
At the end if something as curses or black magic exists outside and someone uses it to harm us, that someone with all the power he/she might have is just a manifestation of who we are inside and that is what we need to fix.
