Hi dear all,

is it just my impression or DB Jupiter doesn't seem to cause so much hardships in life?

I seem to keep bumping on charts with debilitated Jupiter where people still manage to find some purpose and happiness. Also, some of the best readings I have given so far are for people who have DB Jupiter in the Rasi. Time and time again my predictions come true for them.

Unlike Saturn, for example. DB Saturn causes troubles quite visibly in every Varga chart i see it.

Should we distinguish DB malefics from benefics?

Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,

Kat

Interesting. Have you found clients to be a difficult case if Jupiter is badly afflicted in other ways than debilitation, such as bad starvation, etc.?

Several prominent tropical Vedic astrologers avoid or send away clients with badly afflicted Jupiter.

Then there is one tropical Vedic astrologer with an exalted Jupiter who doesn't have a problem with it, but who finds those with an afflicted Mercury to be difficult to help.

@mitryendra80 actually, now when you mention, the worst readings that i have given are those with starved Mercury or debilitated. The readings with them went awfully wrong so far.

However, I don't have a very prominent Jupiter either. It is my atmakaraka and it is in Leo in the 11th house aspected by Rahu and Mars, conjunct Mercury and Venus, but starved badly by them. It is exalted in the D20 and D24 though.

Interesting.

@katalina1 You may not want to do a reading for me then, haha.

I have db Mercury, and right before I got a reading, the (remote) astrologer suddenly had a power outage that delayed our session a bit, and then the initial birth info was also wrong so he had to start all over then and there! (I may have entered the AM/PM wrong, though.)

@mitryendra80 hahahaha, last time I did a reading for a person with db Mercury I got the date wrong, but even with the right date it didn't get much better 😀

and from now on probably when I see a bad Mercury i will be having panic attacks 😀

but it's curious though, if those are not just coincidences, what could be the reason?

@katalina1 That is an interesting pattern of coincidence and it may be worth contemplating soon, as Mercury is about to go retrograde and thus become stronger.

Late reply, I use for planets a lot D9 to confirm if a planet is really badly debilitated, also in which house the planet is from the shadbala strength. Usually from what I have seen Jupiter in Cap in D1 makes someone who doesn't believe in much except belief that are uncommon or scientific belief. I had one case of Jupiter in Cap on the Asc and she was a Satanist. She was very frightening when she was in a bad mood. One time I was doing some hypnosis on a friend and she kept trying to stop me from doing it with manipulative tricks, she really looked like she was possessed, and later on she threatening me directly with knives. One of her children had Jupiter exalted but conjunct Rahu and not far from Saturn. Another one had Saturn on her Ascendant. To me Jupiter debilitated is a pain, unless others part of the chart is great there is not much to be done and spirituality is something that they usually don't care about. Jupiter combust is similar also unless combust in a good sign but still they aren't as interested in spirituality, they struggle a lot with it. Let's take someone with a Sun or Moon in Pisces, usually those people are very open to spirituality, but if Jupiter is combust or Debilitated they will struggle a lot with spirituality.

You are right that mercury badly placed also can be a struggle but usually it will be very different, they will be open to spirituality but will do it without any sense, they will be lost, they won't say the good thing, they will appear like a fool usually, what they say won't make any sense. Usually they will do only Sun sign astrology, or some crazy invalided astrology that doesn't make sense. That's for the worse case scenario.

Sorry for the satanist woman it was ketu on the Asc, Jupiter in the 2nd house in Cap. Jupiter is Asc Lord DB with ketu on top. So her Ketu is DB due to Jupiter being DB.

Yes, it's very true, DB jupiter is not starved, but DB saturn is, that is the reason. Jupiter can easily pick up some friend aspects and become delighted and so when in capricorn as its not starved, it can work out okay. With saturn, any friend aspect has to overcome the starvation before saturn can be ok.

@ernst

When badly starving Saturn has no friends aspect, it goes in deep state of grief. A point where it doesn't want to even leave that grief.  I think starving Saturn also has a deep wound of pathological dependency.

What can save such a starving Saturn? How is such person expected to come back to normal life after a deep breakdown? Can grieving for a very long time in solitude actually finish all the grief? Is that the only outcome possible for this case if it is?

Ernst this is a good question.

And should we remedy the planets that are starving Saturn, or just remedy Saturn itself, especially if the person is already in the saturn stage of life (in his 70s)?

Thanks,

S.
