Hello!

L3 in Lagna is a mark of intelligence, but does it rely on Lajitadi Avasthas?

This example of: Scorpio Asc, with Saturn + Mars in Lagna... Saturn is also not helped more than hurt in the avasthas table. This entrepreneur IS smart but... it might be because of something else?

She also burns herself out to exhaustion (I'm worried for her) which would make sense for such a starved L-3.

Thanks for the clear up

No, lajjitaadi avasthas do not impact this. Lajjitaadi avasthas show our ability to live healthily, not a trait more common in the intelligent.

I have L3 in Lagna too. I can't say I'm particularly intelligent, and certainly not very articulate either, but my L3 is starved as well. Very interesting.

@kam

L3 in lagna should give person skillful intelligence, being innovative with their personal ideas. If its starving and nothing delighting it more than starvation then I think they will not be happy with their innovative or personal ideas and would be feeling starvation on getting the ideas.

@amit Hi Amit, yes this is pretty accurate. My L3 is Mars. He receives starvation from Mercury and Saturn and only a small amount of delight (7 virupas) from Jupiter. I experience the starvation moreso in executing my ideas and putting them out there.

@kam hi! being articulate is not the 3rd house, it's Mercury. The 3rd house is "vikram" which is like raw power, which for humans is mental prowess, but also all the energy you need to be an entrepreneur. So this type of intelligence is not Sun-type, is more like savvy, can learn so many things (from photoshop, to investing, to seed funding, to philosophy...) she goes too hard at it though. Jupiter is in her 3rd house, so that makes 3rd house things even more prominent in her life. She has more ideas, and passion for learning, than time... tries to do it all because of that Mars+Saturn conjunction and L3 starvation, until she's completely and utterly exhausted.

@silvia thanks for this! I have Mercury in my 3rd house closely conjunct Pluto. There's an exchange going on between my Lagna and the 3rd. I think my lack of articulation is due to the fact that my Mercury is thirsty and Agitated by the Moon via aspect. There is an equally strong aspect from Jupiter to my Mercury, but it's not a conjunction, so it ends up not helping much. Learning has always been a difficult process for me and I'm not particularly good at multitasking. It was only when I discovered Astrology that my brain turned in to a sponge and I became obsessed with learning. As for L3 in Lagna, it's Mars with starvation coming from Saturn via aspect. I do have a tendency to overwork myself and expend more energy than I get value in return, but this can also be due to the fact that 12th lord (Sun) is debilitated in the 2nd. My 3rd house energy is more of the stubborn kind, like: "this doesn't seem to be working, but I'll do it anyways because I don't know any other way."

@kam I think what you're describing is due to Mars being starved in Virgo in the lagna. Virgo is our discriminating capacity, to know when things work and when they don't. Mars is also very logical and handles one thing at a time for maximum achievement.

Multitasking is Virgo, cause to multi-task well you need intuition to tell you "now do this, now do that" effortlessly (Virgo is the fem-intuitive side of Mercury) and it's hurt by having Mars there. So I think your learning capacity would improve if you strengthen that Mars, making sure you only tackle one thing at a time. Hope this helps 🙂
