What does spiritualizing of planets mean? Does it mean internalizing them? So, with a Sun-Venus-Saturn conjunction, does it mean finding the discipline (Saturn) within oneself (perhaps finding the shit within oneself too ????) and finding love and healing within oneself, instead of through outer sources?

That means fixing their bad LAs through conscientious efforts.

@amit

I need to go through the new LA course again, but I think Ernst was talking specifically about planets with the Sun. We are meant to fix bad LAs anyway, so what is different about the planets with the Sun?

@manisha From this link http://astrology-videos.com/CourseMaterials/LajjitaadiAvasthas-Florida.pdf

A planet in Kshobhita indicates that the individual invests his individuality into the Kshobhita planet in such a way that only frustration will result. All the planets are satellites of the Sun and need to be used as such – as good things in life but things which are not the individual. When a planet joins the Sun, the individual begins to see the other planet as an extension of themselves, rather than as something that can be used, and thus becomes personally frustrated with something that should not be personal. The individual must learn to use these planets impersonally.

From Vault Of The Heavens

Psychologically, combust planets give rise to feelings of vulnerability and insecurity, which are the result of ego attachment.
Just as the Sun is the center of the solar system with planets revolving around him, the natal Sun is the self whom the other planets serve and assist in the world through the use of their different abilities.
When one of them is combust, the self has become so attached to the functions represented by the planet, that they can only be used in a dysfunctional manner.
The issues revolving around combustion develop in this lifetime as a result of experiencing continual failure when attempting to use the functions of the combust planet. These feelings of failure are usually the result of associating with the father, as the Sun represents the father, or the person indicated by the house the Sun rules, or by those represented by the house wherein the combustion takes place.

I think in a YouTube video Ernst mentions that for Planet-Sun conjunction we have to treat it like "I am using my planet X". Of course this goes to say that we ought not to be attached to the result of using that planet

Additionally

General LA improvement is about using the planets in the healthy way in routine life.

For the planets with Sun, its about foregoing those things in life in pursuit of what Sun, our true self inspires us to do. So it means to accept the absence/separation of significance of those planets in life as one is on the path of following one's inspiration and sacrifice the stuff close to Sun.

Sun is pitta, agni and purity.. So anything close to it gets the burning effect but moving it towards purity too. So maybe that's what spiritualizing is.. Using it towards highest level and purpose of Sun only

I liked below understanding from Ernst :

Combustion is Asta means planet setting behind the sun, so it's losing power as it's rays not reaching the earth. So it gets low chesta bala means low confidence on its abilities. So whatever bhava planet rules in the chart can get lost on account of this factor and if there are no other supporting factors.

--------------------

Sun forces the combust planet to serve its vision by reducing his abilities and if its an enemy that backfires on him.  Sun Saturn looks like an extremely bad combo in terms of inner frustration and starvation. So being able to practice deep meditation to go above and beyond this extreme inner turmoil of consciousness. It's like king has gone down to the level of thrashing the low confident servant and servant kicks his ass back while the whole kingdom goes in ruins!!

Hahaha. Loved the allegory and completely agree with the assessment.

Thank you for the additional information. Still pondering upon it.

Somewhere Ernst mentions that after 50 or later in life (can’t remember which exactly), the Sun stops burning as bright and the combust planets get a say (or something like that).
