Hope I am not offending anyone or breaking any rules by asking for advice here.

I have attached my chart here and have 3 very simple questions if anyone is willing to help.

For information - I am not a gambler but by profession, I am a stock trader and also deal in collectibles that I buy and then consign these valuables to various auction houses. So my life is completely and utterly built upon luck, chance, and in a way gambling!

1. Ketu - I am currently undergoing Ketu Mahadasha. Would it be advisable for me to wear Cat's Eye during this Mahadasha period considering the placement of Ketu and my profession?

2. Mercury - I know that generally Emerald would be advisable for Mercury, but can't afford that at the moment. Is Green Tourmaline a good substitute?

3. Venus- Also can't afford diamond. I was told by someone to wear Fire Opal. Is that a good substitute?

Thank you to all kind souls!

I do not subscribe to the manner in which gems are suggested by astrologers these days. Its all based on the misunderstanding of a sutra in a book where it says what gem is indicated by which planet and its simply based on the rarity and cost of the gem. So no,l don't waste your money on an emerald or diamond. Most people can get the gem they need for 50-100.00 if its selected correctly. Varahamihira who was considered the greatest indian astrology of all time wrote that, All Gems Give Luck When Worn. He then went on to tell how to determine quality of gem. No indication was given as to what to wear a gem for astrologically. The other classical information on gems was found in Mali Nali where different gems are stated to give certain effects and again, its not related to astrology at all other than one statement in a book of hundreds of pages where it says, Sapphire overcomes the ill effects of the Graha Shani. THat is actually correct, the dark blue color is the color of Aquarius and thus it supports saturn.  In respect to red garnet it says, red garnet removes excess heat. Years before reading that book when I was still doing western astrology, I had a burning pain in my back and had a dream to wear red garnet, I taped red garnets on teh area and the pain that had been there for weeks, started to diminish and in two days was gone and I had to wear the gems for 2 months before the pain would come back when I removed them. So that statement from Mani Nala had already been proven true in my experience.

so, throw out what you learned about gems. Color of gems is based on the sign, not the planet, planets do not have colors, signs do. The crystral structure of gems determines the planet. There are 7,000 gem material's discovered today, and they are all useful for the right thing. I have an extensive gem course on this.

I heard Ryan Kursczak, a friend and pupil of Ernst and a good teacher of vedic/tropical astrology, saying in a course recently that he has had good results following Ernst´s advice on gems, and he was especially strucked by the fact that also inexpensive gems help if they are chosen wisely.

Just saying.

I´m curious about your Moon. A good Moon gives the person a good sense of rhythm, and since the stock market and similar places is all about ups and downs I believe you must have a good Moon to be successful in your trade?

Also, in the Cards of Truth spread, an intuitive Diamond like 3 or 9 in a good position should help, or a 2D that help us to connect to potentially valuable things. And of course 8D, which tends to give a special capacity for what seems to be sheer luck. (Although it´s rather a capacity for manifesting in the world what we feel or imagine, lining up our energy.)
