Jackhammering

I'm assuming a lot of people have seen Ernst's youtube video about omens.  In one of his example he talks about hearing the sound of construction workers jackhammering away while a girl is considering a relationship with a guy, and the interpretation is that ...in a quite graphic sense, the guy only wants one thing from her.  

So today I heard jackhammering, although not in a sexual context, and I only clued in till later, so I fell for the guy's request, and I think I may have gotten taken advantage of.

I just finished a report on a little-known software programfor a male colleague, and he was really impressed with it and wanted to know how I did it.  I just started this job six months ago, so I wanted to make allies, but I wasn't sure how smart it was to share all my information with him, as this is the only coveted knowledge I have in the office, and if he learns it, my job won't be as important.  So he called me this morning asking me to send him relevant training videos, which I did.  About fifteen minutes later, I realized jackhammering had been going on the whole time down the street from me.

Then I remembered stories of how he likes to get a bargain, moving his mortgage around from bank to bank to take advantage of promotions and asking the office to supply him with 24 cloth masks so he didn't have to buy them for his kids for school (the good kind of cloth masks that are selling for 10$ each!)

He was nice to me when I first started and kind of validated me when I felt the odd man out, so I'll consider this as my repayment to him, but by God next time I'll be keeping my trade secrets a little closer to my chest!  🙂
