Dear Mr. Wilhelm and Fellow Members,

What if D4 lagna lord, its 4th House lord, and Mercury - all of them are sleeping. In terms of tangible manifestations of fortune, would it indicate that the native never owns physical property on their own, or encounters problems with it, and faces losses in the stock market? Are there any factors that can mitigate this?

Any input or course suggestion will be helpful in this regard.

Thank you.

Regards,

Krishnamurari

What about rasi aspects to those places or the additional places in the notes? What about the hora and moon yogas?

@karinia Well, the D4 Lagna is Gemini. So, the Lord is Mercury. Mercury is in Pisces in the 10th House - sleeping, right? From that place, it Rasi Aspects the remaining angles i.e., Houses 1-4-7 of which Bhavas 1 and 4 are owned by it. Houses 1-4-7 are the Bhavas to look out right in the D4?

In the Hora too, Mercury is sleeping in the Lagna, thereby, Rasi Aspecting Houses 4-7-10. So, basically Mercury Rasi Aspects its own signs. The 2nd House in D2 (Aries) is empty, but it is being Rasi Aspected by its lord (Mars), which is in its own sign (Scorpio) in the 9th House. The 3rd House in D2 has an exalted Moon.

In D1, there are 2 benefics in the third house from the Moon.

What do you mean by "the additional places in the notes"? Please indicate. I have not taken any course on the subdivisions yet.

Thank you.

Regards,

Krishnamurari

@murari116 There are other places to look at, such as 4th from Mercury. Ernst goes over all of it in this course: Concrete Chart & Varga Analysis with Jaimini

I would also go over the debilitation course because there are several instances where a debilitated planet can still be productive or another planet may produce the debilitated planets effects. Would you post the rasi, hora, and chaturthamsa? I am still learning all of this but I can try to see what may help.

@karinia Thank you for the reference. I am just at the foundation stage with respect to the courses. Let's see. Is there a way to post it directly to you? I am a little hesitant to post it publicly.

I'm thinking that in terms of concrete manifestations you should look at dignity and not jaagradaadi avasthas. At least in the Jaimini course, Ernst uses dignity and not the avasthas.

Mercury aspecting his own sign will manifest it...his dignity determines the extent of that manifestation.

@j0sh4rp3 Okay. Thank you. Can the dignity and avastha be separated from each other in terms of their application?

@murari116

Dignity and avasthas both have their place, certain techniques use one, certain another, some both for certain purposes. So it really depends on what technique you are using. Ernst does a good job of explaining which are used in which circumstances and why in the relevant courses.

But it can be confusing and it really isn't obvious what to use in what circumstance and why...I'm certainly not clear on the whole thing myself.
