hi ernst, i am looking at a chart (woman) which i have her marriage date. the dasa she runs at that time of marriage taking place is rahu/venus, rahu is in the 9th house in the rashi chart and positioned 5th from venus in the d-9. as you mentioned many times, rahu usually in its dasa gives marriage and that fits perfectly, how ever when looking at transits on the marriage day, jupiter transit 16 degrees in the 6th house(in leo, the lagna in pieces), which does not open activation on neither the 7th nor the 9th house, mercury however transit through cancer which holds the 5th cusp and rasi aspect the 9th house in scorpio, transiting rahu is conj natal Jupiter (1st and 10th lord in the rasi chart) within one degree.

my question is could it be that transiting jupiter as the  general activator of a bhava, would not be in sync in its transit to the bhavas that relates to marriage and the dasa of rahu overrides the jupiter transit and activating the marriage to take place? or do i need to question the position of the lagna i have in hand? if i do consider the lagna to be different ,lets say in Aquarius then  rahu will not be conjunct the 9th cusp in the rasi chart but the 10th cusp however jupiter will now will transit the moved cusp in leo which would be the now 7th cusp . please can you share what is your take on that?

I don't have the chart in front of me but yes, its possible that something else can be making it happen. You wont find that jupiter is activating in EVERY case, though it does in most cases. Its how we can see what to focus on within a year span of time and how we can do it with transits, but its not the only thing that can do that. ALso look at where transiting dasa lords are, expecailly the maha dasa.

hi ernst, thank you for your response!

the woman im looking at her chart ,few days after i have written to you had  some indication of her time of her birth(not a confirmed birth certificate time). with the time she had given me, her ascendant falls in Capricorn.  Jupiter in the time of marriage transiting Leo in her 8th house, the Mahadasa/antardasa is rahu/me , and rahu at the marriage time is transiting the 5th house in taurus while mercury is transiting the 7th house in cancer. (rahu in the rasi chart is in the 11th house/ketu in the 5th so at the time of marriage ,she is in her half rahu/ketu transit cycle). 5th house is secondary indication for marriage but Jupiter is transiting 8th house and asp 10,4,1 which can indicate a marriage as a measure to progress in life. she was a housewife  after marriage and with Capricorn ascendant and rahu/ketu in security houses can support marriage as a security action. can i trust the time she had given me, at least to the point of placing the ascendant in capricorn?

yes, the asc could be right, but check other events and aspects of her life if in doubt.
