Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if I just made a really cool connection or if it's so banal everyone has already thought of this. In any case, I wanted to share it.
On page 168 in Graha Sutras, Ernst quotes Parashara's description of Venus. Venus is "lovely formed" and rules over anything in spiral form. There are, of course, mathematical principles underlying that which we find aesthetically pleasing. One of these is the Fibonacci sequence, which is created by drawing circular arcs and makes the shape of a "golden spiral". This in turn is connected to the principle of the golden ratio, which many visual artist, from Leonardo DaVinci to Salvador Dalí, have used to create forms our eyes are drawn to.
Anyway, I keep being amazed at how these ancient occult texts contain layers of information that can actually be connected to mathematical theorems.
Yes, its a perfect example of Venus.
