Hi Ernst and all,

I am currently analyzing the D7 factors as taught in "Concrete Chart and Varga Analysis with Jaimini" in one particular chart.

In this D7, I am finding lots of Rahu and Saturn influence to 5th and 9th house factors. In the class you said that this means there will be something extreme about the child, there will be some sort of (physical or emotional) distance between the parent and the child, and/or there will be some aspect in which they are ultimately very different people.

To find out what makes them different, would you look at Rahu's ruler?

In this example, Rahu's ruler is Saturn and Saturn is in the 9th with the Sun. Does that mean what will separate the child and the parent is the child's path in life and the child having different values/beliefs from the parent?

(The mother and father are both from different cultures and the child is growing up in the country of the mother's culture. This might be relevant.)

I've attached a screenshot of the D7 I'm referring to.

Whether the child's nature is supported by parents and their culture, I think we have to see 9th from AK in D12

Whether a parent is able to raise a child with ease or difficulties, for that we have to see manifesting or separating influences on 5th factors in d7.

Thank you for responding. I think my initial post might have been confusing, so I'll try to explain what I mean better.

The way I understood Ernst in the "Concrete Chart and Varga Analysis with Jaimini" class, the D7 is the most important varga for predicting the parent's relationship to the child, which is what I'm looking at right now.

The screenshot I've attached features the D7 of a client. If you'd like to take a look, you'll see that the 5th and 9th house factors are almost all aspected by Rahu and Saturn.

(Influences: 5th by Ra, 9th Ra and Sa, 5th lord by Sa, 9th pada by Ra, 5th from Jupiter by Ra, 5th from PK by Sa)

In the class Ernst said that this means there will be something extreme about the child, there will be some sort of (physical or emotional) distance between the parent and the child, and/or there will be some aspect in which they are ultimately very different people (see original post).

My question is: How do I predict what the root cause of the issue will be? What causes the distance/what is extreme about them/what makes parent and child different?

If Rahu causes the separation/extremeness/difference, do we look at the house or planet Rahu is conjunct in the D7? Or do we look at Rahu's ruler and the planet it is conjunct?

I think the problems will be related with rahu and Saturn signs and they will propagate to other signs through rasi aspect. Rahu's sign has weak foundation and Saturn's sign will be separated because he is a natural separator and wants to take care of its own agenda only. So those signs qualities will diminish.

So in other words: the Rasis that Saturn rules? So the 12th and 3rd house cusp?

If you were to phrase that as a concrete prediction, would it then be because of the parent's 3rd and 12th? So because of the parent's willpower/interests/communication issues (3rd) or lack of rest/because the child will cost the parent a lot (12th)?

(Just for clarification: I'm not including this level of detail in the prediction for the client. I'm doing this for practice purposes and know the family, so I'm curious to see whether it will indeed play out that way.)

Yes, I think so. However we need to see the dasas running if they are getting activated at the moment. There are some good influences too. 5th, its lord and pada are good too. And then there are rasi dasas too.

Thank you so much for your help! One of my biggest struggles is still making these specific predictions.

I'll definitely take the dashas into consideration as well. And yes, there's definitely some nice great stuff in there, too, that I think will ultimately make raising a child worth it for the parent (for example, 5th lord is in own sign, there are aspects to 5th and 9th house factors from an exalted Mars and Jupiter is in own sign in the pada of the 5th).
