Hi Ernst,
I have a question about the section on the 4th from the Svamsa.
In Sutras 1.2.45 and 1.2.46 it says "Rahu and Saturn" and "Mars and Ketu".
Do both planets have to be involved for the results of each Sutra to apply?

My notes from the audio course say that the sutra effects are referring to Rahu OR Saturn and Mars OR Ketu in the 4th from Svamsa. Only one is necessary to give the effects and if both are present they would reinforce the effects. Perhaps due to the dictum, Rahu giving the effects of Saturn and Ketu the effects of Mars is why they are mentioned together.
