@ernst thanks Ernst, do you have anything we can look forward for in the new release version of KALA in the future?

I currently have a full-time programmer who is also a very knowledgeable astrologer and also understands astronomy working on kala. He is rebuilding the entire structure of kala to modern platforms which will allow us to make mac and phone versions. He will then be adding many new features to kala. So we expect to add new features must faster than we were able to in the past. But first we have to finish the rebuild and that's been over 2 years already and probable will take the rest of this year to complete.

@ernst

That sounds very exciting and I'm looking forward to that. One thing that I think would be very cool also is if you open-sourced some or all of Kala at some point. There are lots of different types of licenses and options in this field, and you could easily keep selling it even while providing the source code. Or you could provide some of the code as a learning tool, without enabling someone to compile it themselves; I'm thinking especially calculations, like someone learning how to calculate planetary war by reading how you do it in Kala. Ultimately, it also seems like open sourcing would provide the software will the possibility of a long life even after you are no longer here to work on it.

Yes, open source is something I have thought about at some point, now it won't work for me. But it is my long-term goal to have it open source.
