Hello Ernst,

Unsuprisingly, had noticed many different websites using the Kala Software for rendering charts on their website. Wanted to know if pay-per-use API services are provided by Kala software. Did not find the information on the website.

Would be helpful if you confirm if Kala offers pay-per-use APIs. Of course, there are other APIs available. But would like to use Kala instead for its breadth of features and precision.

PS: I do remember sending an email regarding the same. However, there was either no response, or it landed in spam - which is not searchable on my Yahoo account.

Thanks!

Any plans on having one? This would help individuals conduct research on a larger dataset of charts.

Can you help understand the process using which one can request Kala for charts on the web? For eg: had noticed greenstonelobo.com to be using Kala's services.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks!

we have no plans for creating paid APIs, i am assuming that you mean, an app where a person pays to get a chart?

we have a free chart calculator that anyone can use with tropical or lahiri options. We have in the past made custom programs for people like for Greenstone or Lada. we don'thave time for anything like that now but once the mac version of kala is finished, we could develop some custom apps again.

Yes, fundamentally an API would allow a person to pay to generate a chart. It is not an app - in the sense of a website or a mobile application.

An API can be thought of as a service that allows individuals to send information and get chart information. Here is one astrology related API: https://www.astrologyapi.com/ (not using it currently)

This allows individuals to write their own custom software with their own astrological rules and perform research on large datasets. For instance, if you already had data about millionaires and you wanted to check if the astrological rules can identify those as millionaires or not, an API that computes the astrological data would help validate the rules.

Basically, this enables experimentation on large datasets.

Feel free to ask for more information on APIs. Shrishti should most likely be aware of what an API is.

Thanks!

Yes, we have made a lot of APIs for company such as Jeevansathi.com but we don't have time for any now.

Ok, that's understandable.

Having generic APIs would be great!

Hopefully that's considered in the future
