Hello Ernst and Everyone,

I have a question that has been on my mind regarding the concept of Avashtas, specifically Mars starved by Saturn by conjunction. Ernst, in your videos, you mention that you’ve often observed people with this Avashta being particularly skilled in certain areas. However, this seems to stem from a sense of necessity, a feeling of being trapped, or being unable to pursue what they truly want due to fear of repercussions. You used the example of a writer who has written many books and is very talented but only did so from this constrained perspective.

This really intrigues me since some time.

I wonder:
A. How can one distinguish between a skill that someone is exceptionally good at but is driven by this sense of necessity (Avashta), and their actual purpose in life?
B. Can a chart reveal what kind of “prison” the person is grappling with? Are these truly talents and inclinations evident in the horoscope, or do they stem from the specific house and sign where the starvation occurs, along with other traits indicated by other planetary positions?

Here’s an example: A person with Saturn, Mars, and Venus in conjunction in the sign of Gemini. The Sun is in Taurus. I’ve observed that this person invests most of their energy in making life beautiful for their friends. They are an excellent host and love creating a comfortable, enjoyable home for their family, friends, and partners. However, it seems like a very confined world. Everything follows the same pattern—always the same music, the same routines. While their friends appreciate them, and they enjoy the company, it makes me wonder: Is this a form of prison, a virtue, or something tied to their true purpose?

Another example is a person with Saturn and Mars in Libra. I’m unsure about the house placement, but I’ve noticed that they seem trapped in a worldview filled with conspiracy theories. They spend a significant amount of energy discussing such theories, often from a perspective of seeking justice—something I associate with Libra. Could this also be a form of imprisonment, where so much life energy is invested in this mindset that it detracts from their true purpose? Could this energy instead be channeled into meaningful activities that genuinely improve the world?

Thank you!

There is no actual difference between the skill of necessity and the actual purpose. What happens is that they put more energy into the things they can do while in "prison."  Skills of neccessity may be considered, hobbies, interests, and then there is their larger purpose or career. We all have both of these. the Saturn mars person can take both of these to extremes when not being able to find a way to get what they are emotionally feeling they need.

So, if I understand correctly, this means that through emotional unfulfillment, one somehow compensates for this emotional lack through harder work and perseverance. someone pursues their interests and their purpose, becomes a specialist in it, works hard, but still somehow doesn’t feel completely happy with it.
And the only way to become happy with it would be to be courageous, to follow one’s inspirations (Jupiter), no matter what repercussions may follow. And eventually, to overcome this starvation at some point?

And the nature of the repercussions follows the sign and house placement of this Avashta, doesn’t it?

So, would that mean that, as in the example above with this placement in Libra, it would mean that this person should not be afraid to interact with people according to their own convictions in the real exchange with others, on the marketplace of life? And in this exchange, they could try to create balance and harmony, as I would associate with the sign of Libra, in an open and direct way and not just as a concept?

And that this person only maintains relationships where this kind of exchange is a constant give and take, in which one might also be willing to change their own opinion at times. Just to be sure i understood…

Recently I been thinking abt this combination....I find a lot of extremely hard working people have this combo and suddently I feel this is one of the best if your field requires that much effort ! Even though the person may not feel as good abt this !
