Hi Ernst (and the forum) It´s funny - in a way - what you say in one of the latest lajjitaadi avasthas videos about a shamed Mercury as a possible cause of tobacco addiction. And Mark Twain... and humor as a defense mechanism.

The quotes are attributed to him:

“Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times.”

“As an example to others, and not that I care for moderation myself, it has always been my rule never to smoke when asleep and never to refrain when awake.”

“I am satisfied with almost any cigar, except a Havana.”

"I will quit smoking. Immoderately, that is. I will only smoke one cigar at a time."

He was often portraited with a cigar, and there is a cigar brand named after him.
