Greetings Mantra Therapists,
Is it better to do a Sun mantra when the Sun is moving north, esp for most of us who live in the northern hemisphere?
Does it matter at all? Or does it depend on where one's Sun is in the chart?
If we are directing a solar mantra at a pitru dosha affliction might it be better during Surya's southward journey?
Thanks,
S.
There is pitra paksha coming soon dedicated only to perpetuate the ancestors.
In India, moonsoon season is reserved for more spiritual and religious activities and it coincides with chaturmaas where it is said Vishu gets inactive and goes to Yog Nidra from Dev Shayani Ekadashi until Dev Utthani ekadashi where he wakes up. While Sun is moving southwards in this 4 month period, it includes pitra Paksha too. So, you can especially look forward towards pitra paksha for resolving pitra dosha.
Sounds good. Thanks for replying.
Do all Indians celebrate Pitru Paksha during the same time? I don't know how the holiday is calculated or if there are disagreements or variations.
I do know that the period of late-summer through early fall in western seasons is a time for Jewish and Biblical traditions to get generational curses released.

Does that mean that it is best not to chant mantras to Vishnu forms like Krishna or Jaggannath during this time, since he is in yoga nidra and can't be disturbed? (and thus won't respond?)?
