Hello group,
I'm trying to help my sister find some relief. She is struggling with chronic sciatic pain for half a year now. The intensity fluctuates but is now at its peak and she can barely move. Two years ago she had to get a pacemaker for a congenital cardiac condition (AV block), which in turn slowed down her physical activity and has been living a more sedentary life since.
I know that a full picture of the chart is necessary for an accurate opinion, but maybe a few details could shed some light - Virgo Lagna with Mercury conjunct the Sun and Mars in Cancer, Saturn Atmakaraka exalted and Moon exalted. A very important detail is that she is 4 months pregnant so an X-ray is out of the question.
She is currently running Mars Dasha ( Mars/Ketu ) and her Ketu is conjunct Jupiter in Sagittarius.
I also attached her D-30 Chart, I'm thinking really any insight is more than welcome.
Thank you so much!
As body movements therapy the best is Feldenkrais.
Acupuncture also can be good.
Acupuncture will give quick effect, that is what she needs now.
With Feldenkrais she will learn to move differently so that she doesn't get into that again. Not in that way.
Happy to help.
Sciatic is usually very intense, specially the first one, so scary because also for young people, even more being pregnant.
But no fear. It's not misterious. Simply with movements can be controlled.
I forgot to mention the ankle. She can also try those minute kind of movements also with the ankle of the good leg.
And to be comfortable on the side, she has to check the good height of the pillow (it can vary from time to time) any little adjustments until finding the most comfortable position. And simply staying there, in comfort, the body is healing it slowly.
Have her read a book called The Great Pain Deception. I started to do this for myself without knowing about this book and healed years of severe back pain that woudl sometimes leave me crawling for 3 weeks. It will work.
I have been a massage therapist for over two decades now and there are some techniques with a modality called Maya Abdominal Massage.
One of those techniques is called Hortense's point. This releases the tension placed on the sciatic nerve. I used this often when I worked at a water birthing clinic.
I have not yet read the book Ernst recommended, but it looks great and I just ordered it.
If you need help finding someone in your sister's area, just let me know.
