Hi Ernst,
In the varshaphala manual Karyasiddhi saham has 3 stars which means it follows this rule:
"If Mars happens to be the Lagna lord, always deduct Mars from
Jupiter whether day or night."
Which means when Mars is the Lagna Lord the formula should be:
Jupiter - Mars + Sun Lord(day)/Moon Lord(night)
For the following chart 2004-04-27 09:00 Johannesburg Age 20 Lagna is aries so Mars Lagna lord time is 05h13 so night
Jupiter = 53
Mars = 357
Moon in Sag = Jup = 53
so should be 109 but Kala says 175 so a 66 deg difference
TIA,
Radha

Would be nice to know if this is a problem in Kala or the manual or my understanding
