Does anyone know a good smartphone App that can actually display the good Ascendant most of the time?

I tried a lot of app but most of them fail at that simple task and I end up with the wrong ascendant when I'm telling someone astrology that I just met. I just tried astro gold and it failed miserably, even my planets were off.

I wish a Very simple Kala was available on smartphone, just the basics would be enough like what is available on vault of heaven. The only solutions I have right now is to go on vault of heaven with a phone, but it's not that practical and sometimes I forget to take a screenshot.

By the way why on astrotheme the Asc is not the same than on Kala from time to time? It's rare but it does happen sometimes.

Probably these apps are not using correct time zones or DST. the main challenge to making an astrology program is always the atlas. ACS was always the goto for that but at some point at the beginning of the internet boom, they made the cost of the atlas so expensive to use that no one can really afford to make software with it. Before that it was a few hundred dollars, now it's a huge percentage of profits and a large yearly fee. WHen we made kala we made our own atlas, taking thousands of hours of time to develop it. We did it at that time because the ACS atlas was limited to just a bit over 150,000 cities worldwide, so while it was great for the US with about 180,000 cities, for the rest of the world many cities were not covered. Glad we did it or else we would have to charge about 100.00 more per copy of kala sold.

In January we hired a full time programmer who is also a brilliant astrologer. He is currently rebuilding the entire foundation of Kala into a more modern platform that will allow us to make an app very easily. So within a month of him finishing that foundation rebuild, we should have an app available. Hopefully a basic app will be available within a year.

@ernst is there any update on this? I would love access to a full Kala software from my iPhone or iPad, if there’s still any intent to make an app.
