I have two concerns about Astrology. Ernst mentioned in his Basics of the Horoscope ep.4 that some varga house cusps change every 8 seconds or so. So my first concern is: with so few people knowing their birth time to the second(myself included) how may we make accurate predictions?
My second concern is I am taking the Lajjitaadi Avasthas course which to my knowledge only uses the rasi chart. Does this mean that most people born within a few minutes of each other will have the same avasthas? That doesn’t seem right.
Ernst’s astrology has changed my life and it is because I am so passionate about it that I ask these questions.
If others could shine light on these concerns I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Benjamin

I understand your concerns. They are worthy of consideration and must be answered accordingly.
two people born with the same lagna in different degrees (bithtimes apart 1-2 hours) but at the same day and local will have the same rulers of the houses, most of the time. A good classical occidental astrologer doesn't use divisional charts by rule (eventualy, some use only Dwadasamsa, and not in a separate chart) and still he/she can make reasonably accurate predictions. The reason is that the concrete events on both charts would have slight differences in the concrete meanings of the houses involved, still representing them accordingly.
As, for instance, if an event is represented in both charts by combining the houses 3 and 7, it can mean, in occidental astrology, a small travel in connection with partner, or a neighbour becoming a partner. Both meanings are correct, they respect the meanings of the houses involved.
Of course, there are methods of selecting the right meaning from a house. But even when the specified meaning is the same on both charts, there will be slight differences in the concrete objects/persons involved. Some are dependant upon the social context and others upon the differences between the divisional charts (because the lagnas aren't on the same degree).
Thank you for your reply. I still have questions. What about those born within 1 hour of one another? Do they all have similar issues? In respect to the Lajjitaadi Avasthas do they all have similar habits?

We can not make it if we don't know or can not rectify the chart to exact second but assume we still make mistakes in that case as Ernst says when you look two exactly similar charts your intuition will still pick up two different interpretation based on whether you intuitive quotient and hence astrology accuracy has not reached to 100% if you make 6 out of 10 good interpritation you are a good astrologer 🙂

Use Lagitadi avastha calculated table for different varga charts for each varga your interpretation will change that what will bring the difference in two people born (usually d60 varga will only change majorly ) - Ernst has covered that in last few videos of LA Masters course how to use avastha vargas and what to look for
Thank you so much Yogesh! I'm curious have you tried to rectify your birth chart to the exact second? Or did your parents have your exact birth time?
