I know this is basic but at the same time I don't think it's discussed enough and I love getting to the bottom of fundamentals, really understanding things in simple, clear terms. Because Lord knows we Astrologers can make anything sound true and meaningful 😉
When you look at a chart - and let's assume these 3 self factors are all placed in different Rasis - how do you separate the interpretations of each factor.
The LL seems to be the most straightforward one as it's supposed to be the most concrete one - in very real and physical ways, where will your life path take you the most.
But what about the Sun and AK? If a person had Sun in the 3rd, AK in the 5th and LL in the 10th bhava, how would the interpretation be different from a chart where Sun is in the 10th, AK in the 3rd and LL in the 5th?
I haven’t learned about ak in relation to a house yet, or perhaps I just haven’t put the two together. I instead focus on the Jaimini techniques and then look at the houses to try and guess how the technique applies to the person. So for example, authorship may be indicated but are the planets (including AK) in the right houses to be an author?
Sun placement tells me what may be getting sacrificed for leo and Leo’s house. Where the person is looking to make their kingdom work, and where we develop willpower.

@karinia indeed, I haven't yet come across information on whether the house placement of the Pada has any significance. It's all been about the Rasi itself, not its relation to the Lagna.
The Sun is a bit tricky isn't it. On the one hand, wherever it falls will be a big theme in the life of the person. At the same time they sacrifice that exact area in some way. That's another topic that's been kind of confusing for me.
