Hello,
I had a bit of time this weekend and there was a high profile bullet in the neck that drew my attention in the news. I will not use names at all so there aren't issues with the posting/reporting.
There is no birthtime listed anywhere online so I decided to rectify the chart based on the time of the shooting. I would love your input as well, for those that are interested in confirming or that might arrive to a different conclusion for the Lagna or time of birth.
Born: Oct 14th 1993 in Arlington Heights, IL
Bullet: Sept 10th 2025 @12:23pm local time in Orem, UT
As a starting point, I considered the age of the person 31 yrs going on 32. Thats Mercury's maturation age - so I am looking to see what kind of heavy afflictions does Mercury have in this horoscope.
So I explored that next, but not before observing that Venus was the planet with the highest degrees , no matter what time of the day he was born. VENUS becomes AK which is one of the SELF factors I look for in any horoscope.
Venus is DB in this horoscope in Virgo @28˚ ruled my Mercury - who's maturation age caught my eyes. So there is a second clue that tells me to keep following this track. If Venus is one of the self factors , but its Ld would be strong - it can help a person come out of many challenges, but Mercury is with Mars and Pluto. It has a lot of energy , but its not strong in dignity at all , nor does it get any substantial planetary help or any benefic Jaimini aspects, or helpful Tajika aspects. In fact, the strongest aspects (looking at Planetary, Jaimini and Taika) after looking at all 3 types, come from Mars and Saturn.
Other natural self factors are Sun and Moon in a horoscope. He was born during a New Moon in Libra. Sun is DB in Libra so it doesn't have innate strength, but is perfectly conjunct Jupiter which lands him protection, faith, morals, teachers and it helps this Sun and Moon giving them purpose, Moon is helping the Sun as well. Moon is dark and combust during a New Moon. This becomes the third clue . Sun and Moon are not naturally strong, but they get the best protector there is (Juppy) which can carry the person into older age than 30's, unless other stronger influences prohibit it. Jupiter is EX now in the sky, but its wasn't enough. So let's see what else is going on.
I am just noticing Jupiter Moon Mercury and Mars are all COMBUST in this chart, Mercury being the least. That reduces these planets overall Shadbala strengths, because Chesta Bala is so low. That doesn't count as much on its own, but different factors can add up and culminate to a fatal moment.
Libra is ruled by Venus , so Sun - Moon - Jupiter combo have a DB planet in Virgo as the final dispositor. This becomes a 4th clue since the Lunar and Sun Eclipse combo from September 7th/21st are on Virgo-Pisces axis. In fact - I just read this morning the funeral will be on the Partial Solar Eclipse day on September 21st.
On September 10th at the time of the shooting, Sun in transit was perfectly perfect conjunct South Node in transit (weakened by it), we just couldn't see it since Moon wasn't there yet to show the eclipse to us. That counts as 5th clue since Sun is a natural karaka for life , body and soul.
Getting back to the first clue given by the maturation ages of the planets, Mercury sits between Mars and Pluto in Scorpio. Mercury acts as a malefic just by sitting with a malefic Mars, and it is in an Enemy dignity. Not to mention Mars is the regular ruler and Pluto is the modern ruler of Scorpio. This Mercury is in a tough spot between 2 powerful planets. We are not sure what this Mercury rules in this specific horoscope - but it is generally connected to communication, translations, curiosity, research, learning, playing sports and the game of life, friends, entertainment, news. This Mercury is seating with the big mighty players conveying their agenda in a very scorpionic way - the reason why it hits deeply for a lot of his past listeners and has a transformational effect on them. This Mercury and Mars also align with the constellation of Vishaka which can be very focused on its goals and relentlessly pursuing them.
Mercury @16˚ Mars @12˚ Pluto @24˚
This Mercury acts very tough but it is in fact weakened by the Mars/Pluto sandwich. However, that is not enough to take a person out during Merc maturation. It could be very tough lessons taught, powerful risky games, predisposed to accidents/surgeries or performing them, strong interactions with teammates, and a lot of other things etc. during the Mercury maturation age, unless we have a planetary war going on with that 4 degree conjunction between Mars/Mercury.
This is where we start needing Kala's awesome calculations. Anyone that knows astrology can figure out the above without software just fine. Kala's Yudda Bala shows us that there was in fact a planetary war on the birth date, from 4pm till around 9pm. The planetary war was WON by MARS and lost by Mercury. Can this be clue nr 6?? If a person's life ends during Mercury maturation age and Mercury is losing a war with Mars in the natal chart, and this person was taken out by a bullet (Mars = sharp penetrating objects firearms etc), that could be one extreme way in which Mercury the planner is overtaken by Mars. Also, during Sept 10th, Mars in transit was on top of the Natal Sun and Mercury in transit was combust by the Sun and less tan 3 degrees away from both Sun and Ketu. The knowing of Mercury is given by clues, information, communication and while in virgo it can be strong to adapt to a situation and figure a way out or plan avoiding it. This capable mercury wasn't able to come forward and perform its duties as well for this person's natal Venus AK, while Venus in transit was in Leo on that day, ruled by a Sun that has a shadow body (kept) on top of it. Again, Venus AK will have Ketu on top of it during the actual eclipse and funeral day.
So far, we have:
- Mercury as a big player as the afflicted graha and its maturation age and being Combust the day of shooting
- Venus as AK (afflicted in both natal and transit by being in Leo disposited by Mercury in Leo)
- Mars as the bullet and the winner of the natal promise planetary war ( in case the person was born in those 5 hours of the day - which I am going with for now)
- Sun our body and soul afflicted in natal and transit by the eclipse point, plus Mars in transit on top of the Natal Sun
Next I need to look at the Dasas, are any of these planets Dasa Lords in this period of the person's life? The chart owner was in Jupiter/ Mercury dasa. That is the 7th clue that tells me to continue. Can the benefic Jupiter allow for end of life? especially when its EX in transit and it helps the natal Sun and Moon nicely? Well - it still could. It;s combust and disposited by DB Venus in Natal, and in transit rules a strong Saturn with its own agenda. Jupiter makes space for all things to unfold in the universe. I am not sold on clue 7th so we will come back to it.
Continuing on the hypothesis that the person was born anywhere from 4-9pm, we get 5 possible Lagnas: Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini. Next, I am searching Kala's longevity yogas for the 5 different ascendants that day and glancing thru the Short longevity ones. Aquarius, Pisces and Taurus all come up with short longevity yogas that would apply to this horoscope, all mentioning early 30th. I did not check the manual yogas or the long longevity ones that could offset the short ones, because the event already unfolded and we are just practicing astrology and putting together clues to lead us to the correct rising sign. Hopefully we will have at some point access to a birth record to confirm , but who knows.
Here are the yogas for each of the 3 Lagnas that I have narrowed it down to so far:
Aquarius Lg:
- 8th Ld in Angle or the 8th with malefic, Lg without strength and occupied by a malefic and the Moon is waning , death at 32 [in this chart it would be 8th Ld Mercury in Angle (10th house Scorpio), 8th Ld Mercury with malefic Mars, Lg does have strength because Saturn OH and Retrograde rules Lg but when we look at all other rules to determine if Lg is strong when I am taking into consideration all 3 types of aspects then I get a mixed bag - not weak - so this would not apply, however the Moon was waning and was a New Moon at birth]
- Lg Ld weak as the 8th Ld is in an angle the longevity will be between 30-32 [discussed above]
- malefic in Lg and the Moon with evil planets [Saturn in Lg is malefic, Moon is with benefic Jupiter and Sun is unfortunately considered a milder malefic]
- Jupiter aspected by Saturn or with Rahu , and a malefic is in Lg while the 8th is occupied , lives until 22 [Jupiter does have influence from Saturn in all 3 types of aspects not just planetary aspects, Saturn malefic is in Lagna but Saturn is Ld of 12th and 1st so it tends to protect]
- malefic in angle without benefic aspect and Lg ld is weak [we have Saturn, Mars and Mercury in angles, but Lagna has some strength]
Pisces Lg:
- if 8th Ld endowed with greater strength than Lg Ld , is in angle and malefics occupy 8th and 12th [Venus 8th Ld is actually stronger in total ShadBala than LgLd Jupiter, Venus is in 7th in angle and malefic Sun in 8th and Saturn in 12th]
- 8th Ld, Saturn or the 10th Ld with Lagna Ld or another malefic in the 8th [Venus 8th Ld is not with Jupiter or another malefic in the 8th as it sits alone in 7th , Saturn is in 12th alone, Jupiter is 10th Ld and it sits with malefic Sun in the 8th]
- Lg Ld weak as the 8th Ld is in an angle the longevity will be between 20-32 [Jupiter Lg Ld could be considered somewhat weak and Venus 8th Ld is an angle in 7th DB]
- 8th Ld is DB, while the 8th has a malefic in it and the Lg Ld is weak [Venus 8th Ld is indeed DB while the 8th house technically has a malefic Sun in it and Jupiter Lg Ld is somewhat weaker overall than even DB Venus and DB Sun when we look at the ShadBala]
- 8th Ld in an angle, Lg Ld in 8th with or aspected by malefic, life ends at 24 even if benefics aspect the Lg and 8th Ld [Venus 8th Ld is in 7th in and angle, Lg Ld Jupiter is in 8th with malefic Sun and aspected by malefic Saturn with all 3 types of aspects]
- the Sun in 8th and the Moon in intimate relation with Saturn the native dies at 29 [Sun is in 8th indeed but I wouldn't consider this Moon to be in intimate relation with Saturn (they aspect each other a good deal with all 3 types of aspects, and Moon is in Libra where Saturn which is the exaltation sign for Saturn but would not consider this intimate - and we aren't at the point where we can even attempt higher Vargas as they will be wrongly calculated]
Taurus Lg:
- strong Mercury in an angle and no planets in the 8th, the native dies at 30 [ Mercury is in 7th and no planets only Rahu in 8th]
- 8th Ld with a malefic in 6th, 8th or 12th [Jupiter 8th Ld with Sun considered technically malefic in 6th]
- malefic in angle without benefic aspect and Lg Ld is weak [ there are 2 malefics Mars and Mercury in 7th an angle + Venus Lg Ld is DB therefore considered weak]
So far, we can't rule out any of the Lagnas based on this Yogas. It appears that the Taurus Lg has less permutations than the other 2 possible Lagnas but that won't suffice to rule it out at all, especially because Solar Eclipse in Virgo which is Venus's weak sign anyways, plus Venus is for sure AK thus a self identifier.
I will consider Marakas for all 3 ascendants next, and I might be surprised by how the powerful killers might add up and align with the Dasas and the eventful day of September 10th.
Aquarius Lg from the strongest to weakest:
- Jupiter as 2nd Ld
- malefic Sun with 2nd Ld Jupiter
- Sun as 7th Ld
- 12th Ld Saturn
- 8th Ld Mercury
- 3rd Ld Mars
Pisces Lg from strongest to weakest:
- malefic Mars with 7th Ld Mercury
- Mars as 2nd Ld
- Mercury as 7th Ld
- 12th Ld Saturn
- Mercury with maraka Ld Mars, who is not yogakaraka
- 8th Ld Venus
- 3rd Ld Venus
Taurus Lg from strongest to weakest:
- malefic Mars with 2nd Ld Mercury
- Ketu in the 2nd
- Mercury as 2nd Ld
- Mars in 7th
- Mars as 7th Ld
- Mars as the 12th Ld
- Mercury with 12th Ld Mars
- Mercury with maraka Ld Mars, who is not a yogakaraka
- 8th Ld Jupiter
- 3rd Ld Moon
Based on the Marakas potential - Taurus Lg takes the cake by far, I think.
For Cards of Truth, the natal Venus Ace ♥️ and Saturn Ace ♦️ ruled cards seem to align better for the day of the event than the Jupiter ruled card 8 ♠︎ - but I haven't had a lot of time to really dig in.
I would dare to rule out Pisces Lagna based on COT , but could be wrong?
In order to be an Aquarius Lg and still have that Mars/Mercury natal Planetary War - the time would have to be pretty tight resulting in a birth time of 4pm to 4:08:50 pm - that's 8 minutes timeframe.
For a Birthtime of 4:05pm let's say - this option could work as Saturn in transit (Lg body Ld) was making a perfect opposition with the Natal Venus (AK) on September 10th . Varshapala and Progressions charts would seem to align as well. However, Venus is considered a Yogakaraka for Aquarius Lagnas and even though DB - I would hope it would give someone a longer lease at life. Natal Saturn strong on the ascendant helps the body , but being the 12th is also a maraka Ld. Some of the short longevity yogas were not meeting all criteria, but the there are enough marakas to take care of the job. However Mars and Mercury natal planetary war dont seem to be such big players , but Jupiter becomes a primary Maraka Ld and we have Jupiter/Mercury dasa. Jupiter is in the 6th transiting Cancer and it is EX and it's the LD of Saturn in Pisces in 2nd transiting.
Overall, Aquarius Lagna is compelling and remains a strong candidate. However, I keep coming back to Mercury maturation age, the fact that the bullet happened on WEDNESDAY (ruled by Mercury day of the week) and I am not sold yet.
Pisces Lg has a lot going for it with Venus being a Natal evil Ld of 3th + 8th and DB in an angle 7th - even if I sort of ruled it out with COT - it might be an oversight. It had so many age specific short longevity yogas and enough marakas to be the correct birth Lagna. But again, Jupiter Ld of Lg Pisces is EX in the sky and in a trine. One could only hope that would be enough to take care of Saturn coming back to Lagna in transit and the Luna Eclipse on Sept 7th?
For a birthtime between 18:27:16 and 19:51:30 - we get Taurus Lagna, with Marakas for days. Mars and Mercury are maraka lords (the ones creating the planetary war where Mercury loses) and the Mercury maturation age align more intuitively for me at least. Venus would then not only be the AK but also Lg Ld. Moon is the planet that exalts in Taurus and enjoys popularity as a Taurus Lg, Moon being natally in Libra another Venus ruled sign, in the 6th of service but also open conflict, Libra being one of the signs of politics and business as well.
Solar Eclipse in Virgo of Sept 21st would be right on top of his Natal Venus and he will be given a whole stadium and be buried like a king . Jupiter (Ld of 8th + 11th) EX in transit in the 3rd Cancer can give him a large place of rest, large ceremony. Mars Ld of 7th and 12th is taking over Mercury 2nd + 5th Ld in a planetary way in the natal chart. The bullet in the neck (2nd house ruled by Mercury is face and neck and it is overtaken by sharp object). Uranus is in the 2nd Gemini in transit making it quick and shocking.
I think I like Taurus Lg but have been cherry picking at this point and using more my intuition. Saturn Retro in 10th natal Aquarius and a YogaKaraka seems appropriate judging his involvement influencing crowds. I haven't lined up any other events in his life due to lack of time. However, going in this direction, dialed it down to 19:35 as the BIRTH TIME. His Year's Varshapala and the progressions align great as well, I thought, so are the transits at the moment of the shocking event that keeps the news going. That specific time puts natal Venus in 5th Virgo of passionate and creative , but with 6th cusp of service and fighting. As for the time of the event, Pluto in transit on the 10th cusp, Juno in transit on the 7th cusp on top of natal Pluto (which is the others, the audiences, the contracts, relationships, spouse)
Hoping someone else can take over and see if that would align with significant events in his life, to confirm or deny my findings/musings, or share your process if you've already rectified it.
