I read somewhere that the 6th Lord is your enemies and your Lagna Lord is you. And if 6th Lord is stronger than your enemies win, if Lagna Lord is stronger than you win. Does that mean it's better to have 6th Lord weak so your enemies are weak and Lagna Lord stronger so you are stronger? But isn't that bad to have planets bad? Like isn't it ideal to have all planets strong and good in our chart? Because I imagine the 6th Lord strong was our ability to overcome obstacles and enemies. Like it's beneficial to have 6th Lord stronger so we can overcome our enemies. But this Yoga seems to defy that. So what is the truth?

IN Prashna yes, in birth chart, no. You want your planets strong in birth chart. ANy planet weak indicates weakness in the person, which means a lack of self-sufficiency and capacity for fulfillment. and even if the enemies are weak, that is a reflection of oneself. Just as a weak 7th lord indicates a weakness in ourselves that is projected onto relationship, same it is with weak enemies. We want strong enemies and we want to be strong enough to defeat them, that is a hero. If superman only beat up teenage shop lifters he would not be a hero. Lets say the 6th lord is DB, then the house its DB in gets hurt, so the person's weakness hurts some part of their life and so it's not a good deal. YOu want strong 6th lord so  you are strong in moving ahead through problems and you want some combination that shows you can master the obstacles, enemies, etc. such as Sankhya yoga of 5th and 6th lords joined.

@ernst What about when the 6th lord is strong AND sits in the 6th house?

Then we can handle obstacles well and we'll have a lot of practise doing just that. Especially malefics like doing the 6th house well.

@brightsun yes, I have Mars Saturn in Capricorn in my 6th (so 6th lord in the 6th). I'm pretty good at dealing with obstacles and enemies, but at the same time - life has been giving me a lot of them, to practice 😂 the planets are in good dignity but also starving each other so it's a mixed bag. The problem is what other houses are affected by their lord being in the 6th - things of these houses experience obstacles and delays as well.

That's a very powerful combo to have in the 6th! But yeah, Saturn as the 6th lord hurts your Mars raja yoga. I have Saturn in the 6th as well. Only it's in Scorpio. I hate hard work and have to do it all the time. I've been in Saturn dasha for a while now, and it will continue for a while still.

@brightsun I recently spent time with relatives who used to be very energetic and hard-working in their younger years but have become lazy and complacent in recent times. I can tell you, you don't want a life of laziness. Your life just gets smaller and smaller, and you lack the will to even try to make it better somehow. I think the happiest people are those who do lots of inspired action and are not afraid to get their hands dirty, because the reality is - life on Earth is hard (more malefics than benefics in the sky).
