Hey Ernst and everyone,

I have been practicing and researching on astrology for 6 years now. I am only 24. But even after so much, when I went through your videos. I am kind of confused now. There are things which I have never considered before. Like using tropical zodiac and other stuff. Although I believe I have had very good predictions using my own techniques. But I am still open to new ideas.

I have doubts and I felt like asking this. On what moral authority or on what basis, should I guide people or make predictions if my own understanding of something is not complete or there is a constant improvement going on in my study. Should I stop giving readings, till I have fully refined everything?  What if I tell someone something but after a week I find out, there was something deeper than that. It will result in a person getting an incomplete advice which is better than no advice at all? And how did you deal with this thing when you were young and were still trying to understand astrology?

This is my 2 cents. Astrology is vast. The more i study the more i realize how little i know, but that is a good thing because the minute you think you know everything then the learning stops. But at the same time the more i learn, i also have several the aha moment which is great. Things that did not make sense to me now make more sense. Astrology is both an an art and a science. Look at Ernst our teacher. How many years has he devoted to this and he keeps on learning more things, testing things. People question him, but he never said that is the only way to interpret something. What he said is based on his understanding of the Sutras (the source information) and his experience, this is how he sees it. If people don't agree then go ahead and test it with their techniques. This is both confidence and humility!

You can start learning one technique but learn it well and start doing readings. As you learn more, you can add more details to your reading. First you only see the tree, then you see the leaves, then the flower, then the color of flower and the fruits. Then you see how healthy is that tree. That is called "experience", and no one can give you that except time. You also learn from your mistakes. Yes, you will make mistakes, but i learn the most when i make mistakes because they stay with me. Successful people will tell you they make many mistakes before they succeed. As you gain experience through time by doing many readings, your readings will be deeper, more details and you can decide the area that you want to specialize in. Some people concentrate on relationships/compatibility and they do well in that area. My professional opinion for having worked 40 plus years (not in astrology) is that you gain more financially if you become an expert in a certain area vs be a generalist. Or as you become an expert you can teach and spread that knowledge to a much larger population...

To make solid predictions you need confluence to confirm what you see so it is important in my opinion to master a few techniques for confirmation. If you love what you do, keep doing it. Don't let doubts or other people stand in your path. You will only be good at what you do no matter what it is  if you love what you do and perfect your craft. That means you keep refining your techniques....

A well respect Swedish comedian, Tage Danielsson, once said: "Without any doubt we are crazy!"

Perhaps check out the Cards of Truth meanwhile? What´s your Birth Card, do you know that?

@divyansh If you are willing to reveal your birth time I can give you a brief reading. You may also find out more about them on Ernst´s youtube channel, and of course on his online school for Cards of truth: cardsoftruth.com

A wonderful way to distract an overloaded astrological mind, especially if you happen to have a good Venus.

@divyansh Thanks for asking this question. I am going through something similar, and was going to ask a similar question to @ernst and people who are more experienced here.

I personally have been more keen on learning astrology as a tool for self-awareness and healing, primarily with the help of Lajjitaadi Avasthas, Rahu-Ketu, dharma-kama-artha-moskha yogas etc courses, rather than predictive astrology. Although I have learned some parts of predictive astrology, it's been largely due to curiosity to know more about my own birth chart. When it comes to being an astrologer for other people, something I have started recently, it's focussed primarily on the former i.e. Lajjitaadi Avasthas, Rahu-Ketu, yogas etc. rather than the predictive astrology stuff. I guess the reasons are twofolds -

a) I find the former to be relatively more empowering than the later, as one can change and heal and uplift their consciousness through becoming aware of their own psychological habits & patterns
b) Even though I know a bunch of predictive techniques, things can get pretty deep and nuanced and I feel insecure about guiding someone with a prediction that might later turn out to be incorrect and attracting some karma because of that. When it comes to predictive astrology, I have often felt that half knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge.

Would love to hear your thoughts

@qwertym2 I started charging in between but I realize I need to go deeper. So, I have never done a lot of paid readings or create content or platform of any sort. Cause I feel one should be really confident in one's methods. Till then, it is best to keep it within a small circle or do it in an informal manner.

Should I stop giving readings, till I have fully refined everything?  What if I tell someone something but after a week I find out, there was something deeper than that. It will result in a person getting an incomplete advice which is better than no advice at all?

It will take a lifetime and maybe more to fully refine everything. I spent the past 7 years understanding only the planets and Rahu-Ketu, and even now I get new insights about them that helps me understand things in my life differently.

We wake up each day with a new understanding. Life teaches us something everyday. We grow up a little everyday. At the end of life, it is the accumulation of these experiences that gives it meaning.

Even though astrology is about techniques, what it is touching upon and helping us understand is about life. The more we understand about life, the easier it gets to help people.

I believe that we meet others at the step and level that we are at. If you only know A-B-C but haven’t progressed to O-P-Q, people will come to you for A-B-C. If, a week later, you have now learnt D-E-F, and think that it might be helpful to someone you have already spoken with, you can do a follow-up and ask how they are doing and if the information you already gave them had been useful. They might have already figured out the ‘D’. If not, you can help them further during the follow-up, and get a good name for yourself, only because you did what was right and not because you wanted praise or fame or money.

If someone comes to you for O-P-Q and you are aware that you don’t possess that knowledge, it’s best to be clear about it with them right at the start, and let them know that it’s not your area of expertise yet.

Having said all of the above, you might want to check what exactly you have doubts about. The more precise you get with it, the better you will understand where you need to rectify what you are doing. Morality is a big area in which you are trying to find your little patch of influence.
