My mother is a 5 of Clubs and my father was a 5 of Hearts. She has Borderline Personality Disorder and my father was her enabler. He was the same age as her. He died in 2011 and my mother is still alive and kicking at 91. She was high-functioning and a hard worker but now she is an alcoholic and lives with my half-brother and his wife who are her caregivers.

When she turned 52 (Ace of Spades) she left my dad and ran off with a high-school boyfriend to live in California. That did not work out, but the point is her life drastically changed at age 52/Ace of Spades period.

As far as specializing in something she truly loved (King of Hearts Earth Card), she got a degree in Spanish and Education, taught that for awhile then later became an administrative assistant for doctors. She gave tough love or rather ruined most of her close relationships because of her emotional dysregulation and cruelty, so that may be how the K of Hearts showed up. She also has a Moon/Saturn/Rahu conjunction is 5 of Spades/Jupiter card, so that really is a massive blemish on her chart/spread overall.

@scathach Yeah, Mo/Sa/Ra, I can´t think of a tougher combination, especially for a woman. I have Sa/Ra myself and it´s tough enough; having the Moon there and being a woman, it´s hard to even imagine how painful it must be. It must be paralyzing, really. At least you know that your mother has been that way for a reason, that in a way she can´t help herself.

In what house does the shaming occure?

It doesn't occur in the chart. The Saturn/Rahu conjunction is in the 4th from the Moon, so that is why I always emphasize to examine the relevant house from the Karaka in addition to ASC. She also has a thirsty and agitated Mercury in the 10th house. There is this quote about challenging avasthas in the 10th:

“The person partakes of sorrow when Lajjita, Trishita, Kshudhita or Kshobhita are in the Karma place.”  BPHS, Graha Avasthas 21

I have another friend, a woman, who has Moon/Saturn/Rahu conjunction in the 10th house. She is high-functioning but prone to depression and had eating disorders in high school. She has hired me for readings around her career and was even thinking of going into a mental facility due to the stress from her career.

@scathach Yeah, and in the 4th... Similar to conjunct the Moon, maybe not equally severe but not far from it.

I have a client with Mo/Sa/Ra in the Lagna and she´s surprisingly resilient too, actually a quite wonderful person. So no, having a tough combo like that doesn´t mean it´s game over, of course. Her Lagna lord Mercury is in GF dignity helped by Jupiter in the 12th and has no bad LA to it, also delighted by the Sun for being in Leo.
