I just listened to a class in which Ernst said, "the 8 of Diamonds and 8 of hearts are two of the hardest cards to understand..."

I wondered if anyone had any thoughts, reflections, or experiences with these cards to share as a fun way of exploring them deeper?

Personally, I have an 8 of diamonds as my Mercury card, but sadly, I have been blocked from it as Rahu + Saturn are conjunct there. I will be turning 42 in 5 months. I am hoping I will get to have some 8 of diamonds experiences after the age of 42... I would love to get to know this card's magic on a personal level.

My son is an 8 of diamonds birth card and, while he's only 11, I can share some insights (obviously this can also be related to other aspects of his chart):

- He's all about money. I just started a new hobby (alcohol ink art), his first question was: "are you going to sell it?

- More specifically, he wants to turn everything into gold: buy low or get something for free and resell at a higher price. He's got a knack for spotting designers' shoes, luxurious car brand and models from a mile away, or anything that is valuable. He's been watching the show Pawn Stars on YouTube non-stop in the past week.

- He's not attached to what he sells, it's all about selling and making money.

- It's challenging to get him interested in things that he is not interested in. I can't trick him, he's not easy to corrupt ????

- He tends to be lucky in general, when playing card games in particular. Also, often ending up being offered free stuff when at supermarket (coupons for free gum that he sells for a profit to a friend, free donuts, ... lol)

- I remember Ernst saying that the 8D is a card that requires the right environment for it to bloom. Like a plant in the right soil, lighting, water supply. I think that's why it is referred to as the "luck" card. Also, 8 is a mirror if I remember correctly: how you value yourself will be reflected back at you. So I like to think of this card as the self-worth card: the more you value yourself, the more the world will value you

Saturn and Rahu are delaying factors so yeah to 42! And, if you consider Saturn as a tough friend, he may be able to help you weed out what doesn't work for you so that you find that right soil. I like to think of Saturn as the negative wisdom that allows us to decrease our suffering and finding the right environment will require patience, realism, and perseverance.

I have an 8 of heart as my Ketu card. I actually didn't give it much thought because I've been so focused on astrology. But it's in line with my Rahu in the 4th I guess. Diving deep into the emotional is a very private matter for me, not easily sharing/showing. Here again, the mirror thing: the more I love myself, the more the world will love me? It's interesting because I always roll my eyes when I hear the word "self-love", it does sound so cliché to me (I just can't help it ???? ), but since I've been diving into Rupert Spira non-dual teachings, I think I finally get it especially since that 8H is in the 9th position. Am 46, 2 more years to get that Ketu maturation right!! ????

Hope this helps.

@mona This is so FUNNY because l only know of one 8 of Diamonds so far and just a few weeks ago my friend said about her, "Everything she does she is trying to figure out how to make money along the way."

Ha ha, and it is not like this person is struggling to survive they are living well but are just super financially motivated all the time. So funny to hear that your son is already on this track at a young age. Well, at least you probably don't have to worry about him supporting himself when he is older. The motivation paired with luck is a great combo!

Saturn as negative wisdom and as a helper to weed stuff out is a great perspective. I also try not to think of Saturn as a bad guy there is so much he helps us with.

I should dive into some Rupert Spira... I remember hearing an interview with him years ago on the Buddha at the Gas Pump podcast and it was really great. I am excited to see how your 8 of Hearts blossoms during your Ketu maturation. It feels so aligned with Ketu maturation in general since it is so much about facing all the parts of ourselves and also loving all those parts of ourselves. I think of the 8 of Hearts as the ultimate Shadow Work card!

@rhiannon LOL indeed. Am trying not to project astrology on my kid but sometimes, some stuff are too obvious to ignore ???? Thanks for sharing this person's story and give me some other perspective.

Rupert Spira has a ton of free videos on YT, he's also very easily accessible in his online webinars, he answered one of my questions the other day and is very sweet.

Thanks for your 8 of hearts comment;)

I remember Ernst mentioning in one of the 'Cards of Truth Foundation' videos that the 8 of Hearts and 8 of Spades are the cards that manifest internally (often causing one to feel stuck)

While the 8 of Clubs and 8 of Diamonds manifest more outwardly, and concretely on the material plane.

I have no red 8's, but both of the black 8's are in my birth spread.

8 of Diamonds tend to be naturally born shamans I think. If they can create it inwardly, they´ll get it in the manifest world.

And there really is an air of shamanic kind of magic around them.

In the Mercury position... I should know, since my father is a 6 of Clubs. A knack for being lucky. Things tend to work out for them. I remember when my father turned 50, how he´s brother in his speach compared him with "Blockhead Hans", a fairy tale figure similar to Forrest Gump. It seems to be just luck but of course it´s not, it´s alignment.

Hope you get it soon Rhiannon. With that creative capacity of yours...

Mattias

@meyes Yes, I know one 8 of Diamonds and she is a successful Psychic/Channeler - very shamanic energy.

I am glad your father got his 8 of Diamonds! Did he have any planets there? Ernst went over Lance Armstrong's chart a lot in class and I think, if i remember correctly having Pluto there built him up with power and success and then took him down eventually!

My sister has the 8 of Hearts as her Moon card, conjoined the 3rd, 4th, and 5th cusps. When she was a baby, she was sent to live with my dad's family abroad against my mother's wishes.

The 8 of Diamonds is her Saturn card with Neptune and Uranus in it, conjoined the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th cusps. She's currently in her 20's and has been working as a warehouse packer in the same factory for over 5 years now. When my family broaches the topic of her finding a job closer to home, going back to school, or just doing something else, she gets angry and defensive. Her actual Saturn is in a Neutral Avashta in Pisces, but with strong starvation from the Sun (48 virupas), among other planets.
