Do we apply the natural karaka Jupiter and the DK only when there is an actual marriage?

I´ve seen charts in which the D7 and other factors don´t seem to line up with the indications of Jupiter and/or the DK, but in which cases the couple was unmarried. Hence my question.

If this question has been answered already, I apologize.

I have had a bit of experience with good D7s and bad D9s, the prescription seems to be that if you don't have to get married for legal reasons it's best not to and focus on the co-creation aspects of the D7.  Jupiter and DK will play a role, but the 7th, Lord of 7th, 9th and lord of 9th are important as well as AK and 7th from AK in D7 and 9th from AK in D9.

As an example when I got married I was running Kalachakra dasa of Aq/Ge.  In D9 Aq is 7th from Lg and also has the 7th cusp, along with 11th.  Then Gemini holds the AK.  In Vimshottari dasa this was a mahadasa of a planet in D9 with the 1st, 5th and 9th cusps.  People were quite surprised that I got married as I'm not really the marring type, so I was not really looking or eager for this experience and yet it happened.

I think indications that point to connecting the person (1st house, AK) with the other/spouse (7th, Dk) and influence of the 9th will be more reliable for marriage.

@quasar259 So according to you, whether in a formal marriage or not, it doesn´t matter when it comes to these indications?

formal/legal marriage will be about connecting the 1st, 7th and 9th house in D1 &/or D9.  These houses and lords have seemed to me to be more important than jaimini karakas on the whole.

If one or more of the individuals have bad D9s, it's better to do some acknowledgement/ceremony without full legal ramifications until the D9 indications have been healed and/or great understanding exists between the partners.
