Hello all,
Would a personal closet where you keep all of your clothes and some old personal items be ruled by the 12th house? If not, which house would most closely correlate (perhaps 4th, 2nd (storage?)?)
And which rashi would be mostly associated with personal closets?
And planet?

I am leaning most toward 2nd.
Clothes, other than just keeping us warm and presentable, are a reflection of our self-value and how we present ourself to the world and appear to others. They not only reflect our income and resources, but are a reflection of our general worth (including self-worth). And we are responsible for how we present ourselves to others, though we can't control what others think.
2nd house also rules storage, and closets are where those these resources and assets are stored, often along with valuables and collections as well if there is room.
I would also see it as a place where we use our Moon on a daily basis. We make a choice based the best current option available for adapting to the environment that the day will involve us in, including the weather, which we can only adapt to, not control. And we must adapt to the environment of our job and social group. And color choices in clothes are often based on moods that change from day to day. We also have to adapt our feet to the terrain that we tread by using shoes.
Since the Moon is associated with the energy of the number 2, this would link it to the 2nd house and the second rashi, where it is exalted. There is also a Venusian aspect to what we keep in the closet and the decisions we make there, so that may also help confirm Taurus as a rashi of closets.
So I would say 2nd.
But there is often a secretive or hidden aspect to closets. It is a personal space that is closed to others, within a larger personal space that is usually closed to others as well by default(the house or apartment). We can allow others into our house, but we rarely invite them into the closet. It is a personal space where we feel most secure. So it may have a secondary connection to the 4th, where the Moon and Venus have full digbala.
So it may depend on what we use it for in addition to storing clothes. We may also use it as an ashram, for puja and meditation, or as a place to do drugs. But this would be secondary unless we design and use it only specifically for those things instead.

I thought about the 4th and 8th too.
I was sort of assuming 4th would be more long-term storage of fixed or long-lasting assets, like would be found in a basement, a storage barn in the back yard, or a utility room/closet toward the back of the house. Or a hot water heater.
But I guess any storage in general makes sense linked to the 4th if it is a stable "home" of sorts keeping a back-up of security and abundance. Or any kind of room containing anything in general.
But the closet is a transitional room we step into everyday and the main things in there get rearranged and shifted seasonally. And many are replaced as often as yearly. (High turnover) And stuff in there that does stay longer is usually a valued "collection" (2nd house?). An assortment of shoes that are valued, heirlooms and jewelry, catalogues, comics, stamps, a musical instrument, antique smoking pipes, cigars, etc.
I was mainly hoping that it wasn't the 12th so we're good on that I think.

For the last year or so, Srishti has wanted a closet built for her. I finally built it yesterday. Saturn her AK is on the 4th cusp exactly. And the closet is in the Saturn room, her bathroom right next to the toilet. All storage areas are the 4th house. The 4th, 8th and 12th houses are hidden houses. The 4th is hidden objects, the 8th is hidden agendas, the 12th is hidden behaviors and activities.
