Hi Ernst,

In the first Jaimini audio class you talk about the importance of the Svamsa and the lessons associated with each sign. I'm curious: Which do you consider to be more important (if any), the Svamsa lessons or the lessons indicated by Rahu and Ketu?

Is the difference between both that the Svamsa shows who we are vs. Rahu and Ketu showing where we come from and where we're going?

If our Svamsa is the same as our Rahu or Ketu placement, does that make that sign all the more significant in a person's chart?

Its very differnet. The svamsa is a natural way we learn to survive and manage in this world. Ketu's position is what we instinctively do and we do it very well but we do it way to often and so we need to learn to do the rahu which we are clueless about and usually deem as bad behavoiur that we want to stay away from, so we keep trying to make our lives work with ketu instead and it never does.

Ok, so what if our Svamsa is there same as our Rahu or Ketu placement?  Because there seems to be a contradiction in the chart then.

If Rahu and Svamsa are in the same sign, the way a person learns to survive is one they're clueless about?

If Ketu and Svamsa are in the same sign, the way a person naturally manages things is instinctive, but they overdo it?

What's the significance of a sign of the Svamsa and Rahu or Ketu are in it? Is it more important in that chart than it would be otherwise?

@ernst

Can we read svamsa and pada like we would do 'sun sign astrology'. Meaning, just general character assessment by the signs those are in?

@scott-m-19 yes, especially if you really focus on the jaimini interpretations.

And so developing that sign is even more important, right?

@ernst Does this also apply if Ra/Ke are only rashi aspecting the swamsha instead?

(and especially from the mirror rashi, or does it matter which rashi aspect?)

Thanks,

S.

@mitryendra80 yes, anything rahu influences needs some developmental time. But its nto nearly anything like the rasi rahu is in.

Hi Francesca,

I will share an example. I happen to have this combination in navamsa but via aspect.

I am fortunate to have Ve in Pisces as swamsha. My confidence in life comes from the way I have navigated both good and bad situations until now. And that the divine father/mother is always looking after me and sends people in my life who are perfect for my material and spiritual growith.

Now, I have Ra in Ge and Ke in Sg. Lets take an example of a negotiation.

As Ve, I know that my intention is always to get a good deal for both me and my counterpart. Ke in Sg will come up with one such solution. But then, the best way to enter a negotiation is always to enter without a specific decision in mind, and then evaluate based on new information.

My lesson as Ra in Ge really is to go in with the mindset to get a good deal for both, but look at the options, and then reach a deal that still reaches the main goal. The specific solution can be different and that is okay, in fact sometimes better than the original one.
