There are two types of omens in astrology. The regular occurring ones such as transits and ages. Then there are the progressive ones. Progressive omens are based on the progress of the things in the birth chart like dasas and western syle progressions. Between these two things, everything in astrology is a natural cycle of omens. 

Thanks @ernst  I'm looking to connect my knowledge of the symbols in the astrological chart with the symbols that are happening every moment of my everyday life. In the Omens Youtube video you spoke about how Astrologers of old used to notice everything they came across while walking to a clients house before a reading. Do you have any resources on these kind of Omen's? I am currently reading the medicine card booklet and have begun to notice omens everywhere, with the most noticable being certain birds flying over me in the north, south etc. I do not yet have a solid system for interpreting all of these everyday omens and was wondering if you could point me in a direction.

Prasna Marga has some of these types of omens. As you learn those, it will teach you the logical structure of omens so that you can read anything that may happen. There is not a lot in the old books on this as its all very clear once one understands that EVERYTHING is a symbol of the internal process and all we have to do is read it as a symbol using logic. 

Studying the power animals is one entrance. There is plenty of material on that theme. Of course some of the interpretations depend on the cultural context, important to carry in mind. But basically I think that just getting into the habit of observing the world / looking for omens automatically opens you up, your capactiy for see them as well as your understanding. Knowledge will come to you, rather than you asking for knowledge, I think. But of course you have to have a true desire and be internally active for it to work.
