currently studying planetary aspects in the Jyotish Building Blocks section.

My problem is: I understand the graphs, and how to read the tables on the software.

What I don't understand is : When a planet is aspecting another planet( whether its a 25 or 43 ) how do we do the interpretation, as in how do we know what it means exactly, so we can make a prediction?  there are so many different combinations of which planet can aspect and which can be aspected. So how do we know what it means?

Are there other sections of the platform that goes more in depth?

Thank you in Advance

its used to measure the strengths and wellbeing of a planet. based on that, you can give predictions for desirable or undesirable events. most important are the lajjtiaadi avasthas that use these calculations.

@ernst ok I understand.

My other question is this. I am still unclear about using aspects in the other Vargas.

do we use it or not?

@ernst

Just to clarify your comment since it has a typo. Ernst, you use planetary aspects only in the Rasi chart? But in the Vargas when looking at aspects, you only use rasi aspects?

In your medical astro course, I see a chart example with planetary aspects in the D-30. I can't seem to find graha aspects in the vargas in Kala. This was from 2009, would you now use rasi aspects instead?

@scott-m-19 @khan, My understanding is that each type of aspects fulfills different purposes. Rasi aspects for concrete events/manifestation, planetary aspects for Lajjitaadi Avasthas which are important to understand the psychology and subjective experience of a person. You can use both types of aspects in the Rasi and in the Vargas, depending on what you need. Am sure there is more to it but this is how I got things organized in my head...

@Khan, you may want to go through the Concrete Chart & Varga analysis, am going through it at the moment and it helps putting things together.

@mona so basically planetary aspects and Lajitaadi Avashtas are the same thing?

I haven't gotten to the Lajitaadi Avashtas as yet, but I have always heard about it 🙂

@khan Planetary aspects influence how planets affect each other, therefore it's very important to determine Lajjitaadi Avasthas (am sure there are other ways to use planetary aspects but, personally, I only use those in the context of the Lajjitaadi Avasthas because I need to compartmentalize to avoid confusion). Additionally, Lajjitaadi Avasthas are more than just planetary aspects since the sign a planet is in is factored in determininng the Lajjitaadi Avasthas of a planet. So, I wouldn't say planetary aspects = Lajjitaadi Avasthas but they are very important and useful in that context.

Hope this helps!

we still have graha aspects in vargas, just click on the heading of the aspect chart to change the varga.
