hi Ernst, this thought came to mind, in your Audio courses on Jaimini, you mentioned that Jaimini doesn't refer to Rasis as Aries/taurus, etc. Do you think he refers first Rasi as first Aditya (Dhata) and then Dhata would stand for 5 Rats and Cats? thoughts? I know you asked to not mix interpretations but what if this was the case

This is an interesting thought, since Jaimini associates sign number 8 (which we equate with Scorpio) with Vishnu, as Ernst does with the 8th Aditya. But Ernst's Vishnu, as the 8th Aditya, covers Libra in his scheme.

Jaimini additionally associates sign number 8 with demons, prisons, and hell. But that seems more apt for Scorpio than Libra. (although prisons and hell could be seen as a form of justice, a classic theme of Libra.)

Otherwise simply "Vishnu" works fairly well for Libra for several reasons, one being that its the exaltation of Saturn, a Vishnu planet according to Jaimini.

Also we need to remember Jaimini was describing the navamsha-based swamsha, not the astronomical rashis in the D1 that are created by the Sun. But Ernst does find them usefull applying them to the rashis as well and not just the swamsha.

I just don't know.

Also, my apologies to Ernst for my continuing to do what he has encouraged me to avoid doing after the first time I posted similar pondering, lol. That is, thinking about the classical zodiac signs and trying to reconcile them with the Adityas.

Its probably a good thing to do eventually, but he doesn't want us to rush ahead of ourselves just yet.

@mitryendra80 so these descriptions are specifically about the swamsa, not the general rasi archetypes? I guess with his style of writing it's hard to be 100% sure.

@nkan in Jaimini it comes under swamsha descriptions(i think), but Ernst has said that it sheds additional light on rasi characteristics

@fpbjuke got it. For what it's worth, I love the insights from Jaimini about the rasis.
