Hi Ernst and all,

I have no access to my notes on the Jaimini Rasi Dasas course (on another computer elsewhere at this time) and I am wanting to remember how to calculate the doorway rasis. Can someone please as pithy as possible remind of how to do this?

This is tied to my marriage timing research project. Speaking of this, mine as well pose a second question: I was planning on just studying Charanavamsa Dasa and Kalachakra Dasa. Would anyone recommend any other Jaimini Rasi Dasas for studying? I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible because I'm already doing Vimshottari to 3 levels, transits in all their glory, and Varshaphala as well.

Thanks,

Dan

Dear Dan Hi,

It's so nice to see you. I hope that your marriage and business are going great.

I'm not a frequent user of Jaimini Dasas as they are birth-time sensitive. But, like to use them anytime I get a fine-tuned one -as the system is a wonderful tool to enjoy.

I checked from my notes and some from memory (hope it helps):
1st Rasi is the Door and it's simply the Dasa sign. (When you are in the dasa and you are going into the antar dasa of the outside, that's when you step through the door into the outside. A symbolic of the transitionary time in the dasa.)
Dasa is how many rasis away from the lagna, Doorway is that many houses away from the rasi. That sign is the transitional period when you leave or let something behind.
Always count forward.

Ex: Doorway, Tau lagna, person in Virgo Dasa, which is the door. It's 5 rasis from the lagna, 5 rasis from Vir is Cap. Vir/Cap is the outside, trans period for the Vir dasa.
2nd doorway: Vir is natural 6th rasi, 6th from Vir is Aqu, Vir/Aqu is also an outside, another trans period.
