Hi Ernst and all,

I am listening to Jaimini Pada 1 & 2 Audio #3. You explain that the Karaka is the beginning and the Pada is the end (the foot). The Pada is important because that is the end of you what you will be doing. I would like some help with interpreting the Pada of the Lagna with no planets and no rasi aspect. I am looking at a chart with Cancer Lagna with Rahu in it, and Moon is in Leo. So the Pada for this Cancer Lagna is Virgo. There are no planets in Virgo and Virgo is being aspected by Sagi, Pisces and Gemini with no planets in them. The lord of Virgo, retrograde Mercury is in the 7th house with Ketu, exalted Mars and Sun. The Atmakaraka is Mars.

So how do interpret the Pada of the Lagna when there are no planets and no Rasi aspect? Do you then have to look at the Pada's lord Mercury to see the condition of Mercury to interpret the Pada of this chart? Thx!

its common for no planets to be in teh pada. You read the pada to find out about the person just as you do the svamsa, so all those svamsa results apply to the pada as well.

@ernst If the swamsha is Pisces and the pada in the D1 is also Pisces (and is also a moksha house as well, and containing the Sun (Self)), does that mean it is the natives last lifetime and will not have another chance?

Thanks,

S.

@mitryendra80 I don’t believe so, my svamsha is in Pisces and this only means that this lifetime is focused a lot on spiritual matters, not necessarily that it’s the last lifetime (which makes little sense to me to be honest and even if it did, who can know?)

@ernst So to continue on with the analysis of the Svamsa of this chart. We have exalted Mars  as the Atmakaraka with Mercury a benefic, Sun a minor malefic and Ketu. My understanding is Ketu is to strengthen Mars here. Ketu's lord Saturn is in its own house Acquarius. Mars is rasi aspect by the waning Moon. I dont think the Rasi chart is too bad. In the Navamsa, Mars is in Cancer debilitated with exalted Jupiter and rasi aspect by Mercury in Taurus.

My question: Mars is exalted in the Rasi but debilitated in the Navamsa, how do i interpret that debilitated Mars in Cancer Svamsa even though Mars is with the exalted Jupiter and rasi aspect by Mercury?  Is this a good path or not a good svamsa? Thx!

@tuyetv When reading the svamsa results dignity is not important, just read the results of the svamsa, in cancer, the results are at a far away place, water, and toxicity. WHen anaylizing the AK as a health indicator as it is karaka of the body as well, just as is the sun, so for that analyze in the rasi and the D30. Otherwise when the AK is DB in a varga, it simply means the person will have less abilility to manage that varga.

@ernst thank you! Very true about foreign residences for this Cancer Svamsa. The person moved from her birth place to US as a young child. As you said in the audio not all Cancer Svamsa charts deal with foreign places, but in this chart with the AK Mars in the 7th house which is the house of foreign traveling, that sort of confirms it. You also said in your audio Cancer has a great capacity for spiritual development which is very true for this chart as well.

I was looking at another chart with Aries Svamsa and you talked about 5 rats and cats. It is so true for this Aries Navamsa Svamsa. His AK in both in the Rasi and Navamsa is being aspected by malefics and so this person's mind is stuck with a bunch of little nothing insignificant things and could not move on to the bigger better picture in life. Just exactly the way you describe an afflicted Aries Swamsa...

Its only last lifetime on the physical plane if a person achieves liberation and even then they may reincarnate to help us stumbling blocks along. There is no last lifetime that is not liberation.

Can anyone tell me the name of the audio course in which Ernst discusses the Svamsha in each sign?
