Hi all,

I am exploring Kala and I think I have misunderstood some of the Jaimini Sutras. When I click on Yogas and then select Jaimini Sutras - Effects of Svamsa the window that opens is showing yogas for the chart that is currently loaded. However, when I studied the yogas and I go over the manual I don't see the same thing.

Here's the example:

D1 - Atmakaraka is Moon in Gemini (with Me/Su/Ke); D9 - it's in Aries (alone) and the Moon is not full

This is the yoga the appears on the screen:

CAREER FROM THE 1ST FROM THE SVAMSA
1.2.15. pūrnenduśukrayor bhogī vidyājīvīca.
The full Moon and Venus therein - having and offering enjoyments and living by education.
When the Moon is not full, the career he gives is dependent upon other planets joining him or it may give a career in music - these things Jaimini addresses later in this Pada when he addresses skills and intelligences.

I wonder why this yoga with Venus is showing up when Moon is in Navamsa of Mars. In D1 in Aries there is Venus, but I am not aware if it transfers like this to Navamsa.

I hope I explained it clear enough and will be happy to hear your input.

K

Hi Kristiana,

I wonder if Kala gives you the rules re: the Moon and Venus but doesn't fully calculate it because the Moon not full is dependent on other factors that we have to look at manually. Also, Venus may be rasi aspecting the Moon?

My understanding is that, when we talk about the Svamsa, we refer to the D9 so I don't believe there's any transfer from D1-D9 (though a full Moon would)

@mona hey, hey! Happy to hear from you!

No rasi aspect, maybe you're right about not being full. I have the same understanding, and there are no yogas for Mars (Moon being in Aries in D9). I am checking multiple charts, and yogas are different, so it's not like random yogas there 😀 hah.

I will investigate further to see what will come up.

@kristiana-y Hey;) Yes, it's definitely chart specific. If you're looking specifically for education, the Subtleties of career determination handout gives the rules for that and the Mo/Ve combos.
