My dad died a couple days ago and so I’ve been thinking a lot about who he was. He was a mystery to me because he was so quiet and I never met my paternal family. I recall people telling me how great he was at calculating for his job (he owned a construction business) and how he basically never used a calculator for anything. I thought they were just exaggerating as they tend to do but looking at his chart it seems that may be true? He is Jupiter atmakaraka with Jupiter MT conjunct ketu in the navamsa.

he also grew up very poor on a farm and I think that’s in his chart as well (Malefic 3rd and 6th from svamsa) or am I remembering the farmer indications wrong? He did decide to do construction instead because it made more money.

I don’t know his birth time so please ignore the cusps. And I’m on my phone so I’ll have to put the navamsa in a comment

I´m sorry for your loss.

Your father had either a Chakra or a Samudra yoga, as for akriti yogas. Those are great yogas that makes you either in some way powerful and charismatic (chakra yoga) or generally blessed.

His introvert personality is indicated by his Mo/Ke conjunction, it seems. Also Ma/Sa may have hold him back socially, I guess.

I don´t know about Jupiter giving good mathemathics or calculating skills; is that so? Personally I have Ju/Ke in the 5th and for sure, I´m good at math and good at calculating without any need for a calculator, but not on any extreme level in any case. Maybe?

@staffan I saw that he had chakra yoga! He easily accomplished everything he set out to do. Yes the Saturn mars did get him into trouble a bit. He was an alcoholic and gambled all of his extra wealth and lived a bare minimum life. He did have charisma but he seemed to enjoy irritating people. He was also an expert pool player and would fool people by not using his glasses until real money was on the table.

Ketu is the graha that gives calculations. Ketu is in my pada and it’s a skill I have as well but not extremely.

@karinia Sounds like a fun guy, your dad, at least in some regards. Nice that you honour him here telling us about him. In a balanced way as far as I can see. Now, if you don´t know his birthtime you can´t know whether it´s Chakra or Samudra yoga, right? Chakra tends to give a strong personality and good luck in endeavours, Samudra is more good luck and blessings. In any case a wonderful thing to have; I have chakra yoga myself and I guess it explains why I´m not lying dead in the gutter since long. And have succeeded in some endeavours too, even.

I had forgotten that about Ketu; good reminder, TY.

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing, this is a big omen in your life and so will be a time of great healing. His AK Jupiter with Ketu in navamsa would give the mathematical concentration.

@ernst Interesting. I have Ju/Ke conjunct in both D-1 and D-9, as I said: good in math but not extraordinary good. With that said: I have worked as a crossword writer most of my adult life. Not exactly math, but there is a mathematical aspect to it, or at least a similarity. Especially since it´s mostly the kind of crosswords called Swedish-style, meaning that every concept has to fit into a tiny square; often shared by another concept, so lots of details.

... and my oldest son has it; just finished highschool with straight A:s in everything math and science...

I don´t know...
