For careers, it's a complex study to see what the person will do based on their charts as well as what time period they're running. There is a Dasa technique that can help you decide where the person will most likely be getting their money from. So there is a lot that goes into looking at someone's career. It is not just based on the Svamsa. The Svamsa tells us who the person is and what theme they are working with in this lifetime. Jaimini uses the Navamsa heavily because that is our soul chart. It is the chart that shows what our soul gets fulfilled by, if it can even be fulfilled in this lifetime. Navamsa shows the inner self of the native, how well anchored they are in their path, how much fulfillment there is to get in life since the soul is really the one that ultimately gets that fulfillment. So the AK is our soul producer. The Svamsa is the theme we're working with in this lifetime, which has a lot to do with who we are as an individual. Then for careers we look at not just the AK or the Svamsa, but the planets that are influencing as well as any cusps involved in the Rasi as well as Shastiamsa (birth time must be accurate for this). Then we have to consider the Pada and the UpaPada. So as you can see, it's not as simple as the AK in the Rasi or the Svamsa to figure out the career.
