Hi all, I've forever wondered which planet/house relates to volunteering, and which relates to giving gifts.
You are going to laugh, but in one of my charts, I have my North node in the 8th house, and I think I totally misread that and decided that that meant I should do something in regards to emergencies (the 8th house is emergencies, is it not??), so I signed up to become a red cross volunteer. Now that I'm in the thick of training, I'm realizing how badly I misread that, and what in the world I was thinking. I don't feel like I'm fulfilling anything karmic by being a red cross volunteer, but hopefully at some point I'll feel useful!
So yes, please help me: which house is emergencies?

And then finally, I used to be such a great gift-giver in my youth, but now I get anxiety when someone's birthday is coming up as my ability to find the perfect gift has flown the coop, and I'm always late with whatever I do send. I want to get better- where do I look for that?

Also, I believe that since 12th house it's a house of losses it's better to give out voluntarily rather than involuntary expenditures - it's better to do things by will, for instance I have Rahu in 12th and rather than imprisonment I did a lot of voluntary work for orphans, sick people juvenile offenders, and spent couple years almost recluded while doing this but it was by choice luckily, - I also donate food for athletes In special training
