Dear @ernst

I realized that in Kala the Parivritti Chaturtamsha Varga is calculated incorrectly.

I've checked it for several charts. In the included example Mo must be in Gemini or Ju must be in Capricorn.

I've also realized that the degree of the planets are calculated correctly only the signs are incorrect for some planets. It seems the signs of Parivritti Chaturtamsha match the Parivritti Drekkana signs in all the charts that I checked.

Probably a small calculation mistake in the code where the signs of the Parivritti Chaturtamsha is calculated. (a 3 instead of a 4 and the signs of Parivritti Drekkana will popup instead).

Please check the attached  picture

Will get that fixed up. adding these new vargas somehow introduced a lot of varga errors. can you email me the chart details for this?

Dear @ernst

I'm finding more miscalculations in Kala. So I would like to clarify the Parivritti method:

My understanding is that in the Parivritti method we divide the signs to the number of equal parts we want to have (2 for hora , .... 16 for shodamsha,..).

Then we associating the parts starting from the first part of Aries to the signs in normal order, when we reach 12 we assign Aries to the next part and continue in the same manner.

As a result for each varga the 360 degree circle of the zodiac is associated to the zodiac signs n times where n is the division of the varga.

For hora the zodiac circle is divided to 24 equal degrees and associated to the 12 signs twice in a row. For shodamsha the zodiac circle has been divided to 184 (12*16) equal parts and associated with the signs, 16 times in a row.

Is this correct ?

Dear @ernst

checking Kala Varga calculations I realized that D11,D8,D6,D5 degrees are all calculated wrongly. you see the degrees are the same for all of the charts and equal to the degrees of D7 which is the correct one. however if my understanding of the parivritti method is correct then the signs of the planets have been calculated correctly.

Just load any chart and compare the degrees of the planets in  D11,D8,D7,D6 and D5.

Take a look at the attached screen shot. (I've already emailed you the details for this example is same as above. but load any chart and you will find the same problem if you have the same Kala as I do)

Yes, that is correct way to calcualte. ANd yes, a bug creeped in when we were working on the vargas on the varga degrees that we will be fixing. However, we cannot provide a patch at this time as we have started to work extensively on the new version of kala and there are many loose ends in the new version.
